Actually, I was not the first. I called in the morning and they had 3 of each, and the woman told me the PS3 version had been selling more than the 360 version. So they have been selling copies. When I arrived another PS3 copy had already sold, leaving them with 2 and I bought one of the 3 remaining 360 copies. So yeah, Vanquish was selling.

The game is awesome! I played the demos, but theres nothing like the real thing. Looking forward to this weekend for sure!

Also, to those playing it, any ideas for a SEGAbits community challenge?

Oh wow, 24 Days since anyone posted?

In any event I started playing this tonight, and I think it's pretty good. It doesn't stack up to Bayonetta for me, but Bayonetta is one of my all time favourite games so that would have been very tough at the best of times. I do think it's good though, and I've played through all Act 1 in one sitting. I like that it's pretty difficult, even on the Normal setting, I'm sure that it's the kind of game i'm going to get better at and then keep coming back to.

I really need to get better at managing my 'super bar' (For want of a better description), I tend to burn through it really quickly and then get caught in a sticky situation.

The weapons are especially cool, love the lock-on laser and I've already upgraded my Assault Rifle a whole lot too.

Thats what happens when nobody bothers to buy it.

Anyway just remember that your weapon will drop an upgrade if you die while using it.

Also the Shotgun is awesome when upgraded and easily the best weapon for taking out the Romonovs(sp?)Shotgun to the weak spot on their back is one of the best moves in the game.

I got my special edition some days ago, but didn't have time to play it yet :( At least I played some time with the 3D lenticular cover, really great cover  8-)

Anybody interested to see pictures of the special edition (the figurine)?

Thanks for the tip about losing grades, I didn't know that, but it explains why the Assault rifle dropped a grade or two.

And those Romanovs are fun to fight, I did a huge powerslide into one and delivered a massive flying kick to kill one and got the 'ROMANOV THIS' achievement.  :afroman:

So far I've really liked the episodes 'Darkness' and 'Rapids'. The trains going by overhead and cork-screwing around the tracks was really nice.

Holy Balls the challenges are hard. I've been trying the first one for the past hour or so and can't do it. Got up to the 5th wave with the Bogey flying about but couldn't beat it.

I've found this challenge far more fun than anything in the single player so far, can't wait to see how it ramps up. Is there any trick/tactic I should be wary of for the tactical challenge? Or do I just need to stop sucking?

Here are some pictures of the special edition. The figurine is very well made and the lenticular cover is amazing! Unfortunately the effect of the cover isn't noteble on the pictures.

^Awesome! I was even looking at getting one of those off of ebay, but they are going to for really high prices. We did get the lenticular cover here at least.

Just finished Mission 3, this game is really hitting it's stride now and HOLY CRAP IT IS GOOD. The whole mission was full of amazing parts and it really was just great. I was a bit unsure but now that things are starting to heat up this is really an excellent game. Still not QUITE as good as Bayonetta in my eyes, but damn good nonetheless.

Ah! Now your getting it.

As for the Challenges... I've beat all but Challenge 4 which I played for about 3 hours and then deemed impossible.

^Then why does it make you frustrated with Sega? For not promoting it more?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play it since last weekend, I've been so busy every afternoon this week. Looking forward to giving it some more time this weekend.

Obvioussly for not promoting it better, its not necessarly on promoting it more. Its how they promoted it. This game seems to be following a certain pattern where Sega west is concerned where they release a key winter title against a bigger game that's being released on the same day and it gets lost in the shuffle. If i didn't know better you could argue they purposly killed the title.
