Wasn't going to log in until next week but i had to...

What the hell happened? Why did this game only make it outside the top ten in the UK? First AP and now this? All gamers are officially stupid. Kudos to those who brought this game and shame to those who didn't.

Something is seriously SERIOUSLY wrong here.

^I couldnt agree more. This game is just more fun to play then anything Ive played in years. Had Bayonetta not come out this year this would probably be my game of the year.

Everyone else is to busy complaining about Sonic 4.

I think you'll find too many people are too busy playing Sonic 4, rather than complaining!

I find that to be highly unlikely. xP

It was pointing out that someone like Crackdude has a very tight budget and ended up spending that on two versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, not that I don't think he would enjoy Vanquish more than Sonic 4 though and maybe he still would not have the extra 20 or so Euros.

Though he wanted to buy Sonic 4, unlike some people who were more on the fence. So it would have been tough to say "crackdude, skip Sonic 4, wait two weeks, and then spend twice as much on Vanquish"

Since Vanquish is so near to the end of the month, I imagine a lot of folks didn't budget for it. Considering how many goodies come out this month, it's tough to make choices! I already had Sonic 4 (360, iPhone), Clone Wars ssn 2 bluray preorder, BTTF bluray preorder and Toy Story Trilogy blu preorder. Vanquish is on the list, but all of the above were more important to me.

In any case, I just do not think people would be too interested in a shooter now without multiplayer these days. Sad but unfortunately true.

Vanquish was suppose to have it's target at about a million, certainly it seems it will not meet that target. It's all dependent on American sales now I suppose.

I told you, GAME has my copy waiting for me, I just have to go collect it! And that would probably be sometime this weekend considering my work schedule.

Unless I was to go to TESCO *Shudders*

Vanquish will never reach a million but I think it could at least reach healthy sales via word of mouth like Valkyria Chronicles has.

Holy sh it! Nobody here has bought it in pre-order? You guys were really expecting for this game? ;PPP

I just forgot to finish the buy at amazon.jp... lost the bonus now. F@CK!

Dunno if everybody knows that, but there is something I have forgot to say about Vanquish.

Mikami and Platinum were testing the limitations of the PS3 to increase particles on the screen; they have used 1000% of the capacity (I cant understand this technical part) of the PS3.

They just were not able to put all those things on the game, but Mikami wanted it to be there. Nobody at Platinum had the abilities to do this job.

Then, Sega helped them, and brought to Japan a fucking genius programmer from Sega of Europe.

This guy has done the job in a way that makes Mikami highly surprised with his technics. The guy from Sega of Europe made all the particles works inside the game and fit everything on the screen without losing anything.

 God Job!! XDDD

Actually I only got the PSN version of Sonic 4.

There is a problem in Portugal: new games cost 70 euro. That's 98 US Dollars!!
As much as I'd love to get Vanquish right away, I simply don't have that kind of money :c
It's the kind of game I like, but I can't afford it. (I was kinda joking about Rapstar before, mind you people lol)

In fact, Sonic 4 is the only game I bought in 4 months. Sad but true.

Actually this is not suprising to me at all.
Mike Hayes used to talk about his 'crack team' of pro developers that he would put to work on any game that needed that little bit more.

I think they first worked in the game Sega Rally that was made in Sega Europe. Just take a look at some of the partical effects in Sega Rally. They are really impressive for 2008 and even impressive now.

When kicking up dirt but even better when driving really fast through water the spray that was kicked up looked amazing.

Pretty sure they also work with The Creative Assembly a lot these days, look at their water splashing effects in Shogun 2 trailer. I think they worked on Bayonetta too.

As for Vanquish's bad sales, take a look at it's competition:

-Halo Reach a few weeks before
-Medal of Honor & Dead Rising 2 the previous fortnight
-Fallout New Vegas the same day
-Force Unleashed 2 the following week
-Smackdown vs Raw 2011 the following week
-Call of Duty Black Ops the following fortnight
-Assassin's Creed Brotherhood in the coming weeks.

It's a very crowded release window, and Vanquish simply cannot compete with big-name franchises like Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed. Even Dead Rising has more weight behind it. I know the games aren't similar, but at the end of the day, people only have so much time and money.

I think it would have been better to release this in January/February like Bayonetta. It is what it is though, lets talk about the game rather than sales.

How far is everyone into it? Any really cool/tough boss-fights? Do you unlock more moves and challenges as you go through the game? I really hope the replayability and unlockable bonuses are as good as Bayonetta.
