Damn, does it ever look exactly like Vanquish. If I remember correctly, SEGA/Platinum Games one even said themselves that they were hoping to appeal to a Western graming audience with this game. Everything about the way it was designed seems focus tested for that particular demographic, right down to the generic brown-haired 30-something rough guy protagonist who smokes five packs a day because that's what cool people do. Not to mention that he's an American fighting against Russians, playing in with that bizarre Cold War nostalgia that Americans seem to carry these days and that developers keep mining from.

Except they actually said it was and you are just being too close-minded again. Why not try playing a game you think that looks fun instead of tossing it aside because the lead character is a male human with a lot of clothes on?

I swear, you make no sense at all sometimes.

Except they also said they developed it with a Western audience in mind.

Guess which bore more weight on the visual design front: Casshern, or the target demographics? It should be easy to see who the winner of that contest was.

I might not toss it aside forever, but I will wait for it to dramatically go down in price.

Accused of trolling for saying that Vanquish looks "fun".

Of course. :P

I suppose I didn't realize that Casshern used washed out shades of grey and brown like a gramer marketed Xbox 360/PS3 game.

Evidently the film does.

I somehow highly doubt that Tatsunoko's bad movie adaptations would inspire people to create, but you never can tell.

At any rate, I just wanted to say that I think might be a fun game. Be glad that I complimented it even that much. xD If this were something like Gears of War, you'd never see nor hear me give it such flattery.

How is having a personal taste making me any less of a true gamer??

Sorry I dont like gore and reenactments of war and skip most of the MWs and GOWs. Also sorry I prefer any music/sports/arcade game over others.

What if I dont like bears and theres a big ass bear on the cover? I have to play it?
And if theres a naked chick on the cover Im more inclined to buying it. Am I a bad gamer?

What the fuck

If you think you might enjoy a game, why wouldnt you play it?!
A good game is a good game. So the setting isnt perfectly ideal or the character isnt something you can fap over... So what?

People need to stop being so melodramatic.

God of War is a good game right? Lots of people tell me that. Still, I find the gameplay boring and the violence way too grotesque. I simply can't enjoy it at all. Am I less of a gamer because of that?

To me, personally, it's a bad game.

"good" and "bad" are so subjective.. Unless something is broken, there is no bad. But being good isn't an absolute characteristic.

I'm usually not even vocally critical on games, I try to enjoy something in everyone of them.. But that "true gamer" comment tingled me.

True gamers love rainbows. FACT

I agree with you on the grotesque violence in God of War. I'm a bit squeamish to that sort of thing, thus why the Vanquish intro bothered me a bit. ^^;;;

But Crackdude, you were complaining about the whole violence thing not the gameplay... In Vanquish there is basically no blood and you don't even fight humans.

Just so you know, Sonic breaks robots too.

The game is not brown, you must be a bit of a retard. Its not 'Unreal brown' it has buildings that are white, sort of like Mirror's Edge. I assume the developers did this so that the sparks and other colors (blue and orange explosions) would stand out. They do look marvelous in slow motion too.

Plus the color of the game changes at times when in slow motion:
