I thought Captain America was dead.
He dies all the time. He's like the Kenny of the Marvel universe or something. Only, it's not done for laughs like it was in South Park; Marvel just has completely incompetent writers.

As far as I know he only died once.

Unless you count things like The Infinity Gauntlet and Secret Wars.

As for the outfit, I'm glad that the classic suit will be in this game as it is the one I like the most. The film version is very similar to Cap's outfit from The Ultimates.

It's a Marvel movie licenced game made by Sega. Do not get your hopes up.

Some of the megadrive Sega/Marvel games were pretty damn good...

Then maybe you should play SPIDER MAN VS KINGPIN,XMEN and XMEN 2 CLONE WARS and prehaps if you can find it SPIDER MAN THE VIDEO GAME. Excellent sega made marvel games and excellent video games based on a marvel license in general.

Apart from that since hayes is now in charge of SOA too maybe this game will be different(depending when it was commissoned) So far Hayes had to clean up the mess that Jeffery left behind by canning all sorts of games some good some garbage, virtually saved sega's aliens license singlehanded as well as pursuring and cemented the better deals that he or jeffery did create. Wait and see on this one even though i perfer it to be based on the actual film.

X-Men 2: Clone Wars was one of my favourite Genesis games of all time, but the recent track record of Marvel licensed games hasn't been that great.  Those games also weren't rushed out to coincide with a theatrical release.  A big factor in the quality of every tie-in game.
GoldenEye was an awesome tie-in.  It came out a year and a half after the movie.

That said, the new Punch Out was pretty great, so this could be solid. We'll see.

I hope this one turns out well...

I actually think a Captain America game has as much potential as a Spiderman game... Thor however, not so much.

I hope you can throw your shild like a boomerang.

Thor has a hammer, crushes skulls. How is that not awesome?

I can't say that I've ever read a Thor comic book with battles that were exciting or suspenseful, though.

He may be powerful, but so are lots of other characters. Who cares? Goku is more powerful than Thor, and yet Dragon Ball Z is just as boring and predictable. I don't get how his powers make Thor inherently "awesome" when they're absolutely nothing special.

Well, the stories around the character is what makes me like him so much. The stories of Thor during Walt Simonson's run in particular are very good.
He is a hero for two worlds basically. He fights alongside Earth's heroes but he also fights for the heavenly realm of Asgard and his loyalties between the two make him an interesting character in my opinion.
But anyway, this is more of a discussion for whenever there is another thread about the upcoming Thor game. Let's focus on good ol' Cap for this topic. =)

Okay then. :P

I'd still like to see Captain America turn into the Dan Hibiki of the Marvel universe. You know, where he thinks he's the greatest because he's got "AMERICAN POWER!", when in reality he's only a bit stronger than the average guy of his build.

Marvels version of Thor looks like a massive douchebag.
I just don't think his story is very good either.

Seems like he wouldnt make a good videogame character.

So this game will be set during World War 2 then? Will be interesting to see if they have any modern-day action as well, or if it's purely WW2 era. In any event, hope there is lots of good brawling action.

Yeah, I think the game will be primarily set in WWII, but the concept art has Madame Hydra so it is possible there will be a modern section too.
