I think the 3DS would lend itself tremendously well to a Panzer Dragoon game.  I've also been saying for the last few years that a NiGHTS title would be great for the DS system.  For instance, dragging the stylus across the touch-screen and seeing NiGHTS mimic the movements would be just fantastic (not like that ill-begotten "Mind Sight" from Journey of Dreams on Wii).

Although it hasn't happened yet, I'm sticking with my conviction that we will see a NiGHTS DS/3DS at some point.

The feeling of flight is an experience that is quite exhilarating --even in a videogame.  Having those sensations in 3D couldn't be better.

Sonic is an obvious choice, of course.  I think, however, that what Sega shows us is going to be beyond what we're expecting.  I'll liken it to the first time we saw Sonic Adventure with the killer whale chase scene.  That scene (and the many others like in in Sonic Adventure) set a bench-mark about visual flare and speed.  3DS Sonic is going to come close to replicating that sense of newness.

I can't ignore that Jet Set Radio would be awesome on the NGP.  The rear touch-pad alone would allow for some intuitive spray-paint manuevers, while still maintaining control for skating, etc. on the front.

^I don't agree with Panzer Dragoon on 3DS. If it was announced I would buy it... But it wouldnt be my first choice.

I want to see Panzer Dragoon pushing graphics, something truely beautiful like Saga was for the Saturn and like Orta was for the Xbox.

A panzer dragoon could look great on the 3ds though, especially in 3d, maybe(still don't know how the 3d looks)

depends what game... That Kid Icarus game looks kind of on par with eairly Dreamcast games. The Resident Evil game looks like a PS2 game with all its shaders.

Frankly when I picture a new Panzer Dragoon I picture it pushing HD graphics to the limit, not looking worse then ORTA. So I'd rather it on the HD consoles.

I'd rather see long lost IPs hitting consoles before portables. I'm all for portable gaming (hence my online moniker and blog), but if SEGA is going to finally get around to releasing another Dragoon or JSR or something, make it a full on console release.

I think it would be quite cool if an old IP got a new console sequel, and then previous titles in the series received portable versions. Then, players could connect the two titles to unlock bonuses. Like, Panzer Dragoon 1, Zwei and Orta hit the PSP2 in a combo title, and then a new Panzer Dragoon hits the 360 and PS3. The PS3 version allows for certain objectives to be met, that in turn could affect the portable titles. Or, completing tasks in the portable titles could affect the console game. Like unlocking new dragons or riders from the old titles.

Valkyria Chronicles would be a perfect shoe-in for Sega on the NGP(really not liking this generic concept name).

I think SEGA should do some apps. Basically extensions to games, like PSO2.

Buy PSO2 on PS3. Play it. IF you want the NGP version, to import your account on the go, you have to pay a price for the 'application', which is just the digital version of your game.

Lets say, 15 bucks or something.

Yeah good point. I'd rather play panzer dragoon on a console instead of on a handheld too.

To Hell with graphics. Panzer Dragoon is screaming to be put on Wii instead of having the same left-analog-stick-is-move-and-aim mechanic again, even if it is just a port of Orta or something. It could easily be the best release in the series and it would not even take that much work.

Now selling it at all is a different issue...

I can't disagree that I'd rather see those games on a console than a handheld.  I was just thinking that in terms of costs and reaching a broader audience, a handheld title would work great.

I'd say as a developer, it'd be better to jump on the 3DS and NGP ship as early as possible.  With fewer titles saturating the market, perhaps someone who's not as familiar with those games might be more apt to give it a chance (though one could make the argument that less consoles = less chance for sales).

If those games would sell well, there might be more interest in a console release.  All things considered, I don't think JSR, JSRF, NiGHTS: JoD, and Panzer Dragoon Orta sold anywhere as well as Sega would have hoped when released.

...Branching off from the subject at hand, but keeping with the topic:  the House of the Dead for 3DS.  I think a rep. from Sega made a passing remark on a portable version of the series about a year ago.  Might have to do some tweaking to make it work properly though.

I think the NGP (or 3ds for that matter) could be an excellent way for sega to revive franchises in a cost effective way while still doing them justice.  We're at the point where portable hardware is high end enough to make games both affordable and marketable!  So with that I'd like to petition a fully fledged sequel to Skies of Arcadia on either platform.  Or even Sakura Taisen!

As a side note, a portable version of PSO Ep. 3 could be immense fun if done well.

PSO Episode 3 is the only PSO game I haven't owned...
That said, if Rappy enjoyed it who are we to say otherwise.
