Segabits Retrospective : Why I love the Phantasy Star series

Quote
If you haven’t played Phantasy Star II, then you might not want to read on.
To me the character of Nei was always that one person in the game who you cheered for.
You wanted her life to get better. But why was her life so screwed up?

European Release's Coming Soon

Quote
I gave the game a try for an hour yesterday and found it to be pretty good,
though I have to admit that the setting and art style is quite different from the Phantasy Star we know from the Mega Drive/Genesis originals and Online series.
Dark Falz plays a part and there are rappys, though, so its not completely detached from the series.

Bein’ bad – SEGA style

Quote
"Given how many real people you interact with in Phantasy Star Online, being a badass hacking haxxor can not only ruin the game for others, but can also alert SEGA and in turn lead to a speedy banning.
That was, however, back in the day.
Now, the Dreamcast PSO servers are all but dead and the PC community is far from official, making hacking much easier.
I’ll admit, I’m not bad enough to know how to hack PSO."

Here's some of screenshots of Idola Phantasy Star Saga
At first I was hesitant to play it since I didn't like the art style,
but now they grew up on me because the voice acting is just so good..
The perfect voice acting really helps to make the characters feel alive.

The gameplay may be just generic turn based RPG with gacha elements,
but it's really fun to play and it has unique law and chaos system.
Law believing in justice and order, while Chaos emphasizing freedom and equality.
Their power sources are different too, law characters use runes while chaos characters use fests.
They can't fight within the same party because their different source of power will cancel each other.
Our main character, Uly, is the rare neutral of course. His power couldn't be cancelled.

Overall I gave this game 8 of 10. And 10 of 10 for its (Japanese) voice acting.

Phantasy Star Online 2 - Episode 5 Announcement Trailer :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WAUKP7VVS8

In Episode 5, following the aid of those on Earth, players discover a mysterious portal that leads to another dimension, called "Omega." This world seems driven purely by fantasy, a world of swords and magic instead of technology and science. The two worlds are in direct contrast with each other, and as the story progresses, players will frequently move between them while observing the strange similarities these worlds share. Simultaneously, a mysterious woman who calls herself "Alma" appears, and she seems to have information about Omega and–strangely–about ARKS.
Episode 5 brings a lot of new content and features including increasing the player level cap to 90, new ARKS missions and areas to explore, new enemy types, new quest types with new rewards, new seasonal events, new Alliance Quarters, and more. Photon Art and Technique levels will increase, and additional Photon Art, Techniques, and Battle Arena weapons will be added.

“I think for the next one, we may go with a concept close to the Mega Drive Mini. If I have to say some names, it could be an SG-1000 Mini or a Dreamcast Mini…” (Yosuke Okunari)

If Dreamcast Mini is really gonna happened, then Phantasy Star Online should be in it. It's got to be. :)
