Radrappy showed a link to Kotaku(not a sonic website) with news unrelated to colors. The article mentioned colors itself as being well received by fans and critics and the comment section agreed mostly.
Colors isn't quickly forgotten. Usually when things are decent, positive or okay theres not really much to say. You should have seen reactions at Neogaf, which were basically considered as the biggest whiners in the gaming community. They loved it for the most part as well.
It's usually the crap games that are most memorable for making big waves of complaints and emotional reactions. Same thing goes for Top notch quality games. Sonic colors is okay and that's just what it is. There's nothing to complain about, but also nothing to shout and scream the roof off.
But even though all of the above, it does get mentioned alot as proof sonicteam still got what it takes. It's also used as proof of that the more classic orientated gameplay works better than the rush as it has gotten alot more recognition by fans, non fans and critics. I have noticed lately that sonic unleashed is usually liked by those who like the sonic rush games for the most part. Sonic colors is hated by those who dislike "sonic 1". The same fans that dislike colors wii, actually love colors DS. It is a great minority though.
There are also some silly HD whores but I think they're not really worth it to talk about.
I may be generalizing a bit, but it's how I sorta analyzed the opinions throughout the fanbase.
