I've always liked Minecraft, but yeah the new releases have sorta gotten me back into it. All the hype surrounding it and stuff. I play on my PC with a friend.

Thank you! I don't feel I'm that great at building compared to what I've seen other people build in survival mode. It's amazing what some people build in survival mode. and yeah it does take time, but the better you get the faster it goes.

We've recently started work on our looooong bridge all the way to another continent across an ocean.

Can you build trains and other vehicles for transportation? It takes a while to walk around the whole place, would definitely be nice to hop on a vehicle or something. I'm trying to get some fire going, not entirely sure where i get the materials for it.

There is a few different ways to get around in Minecraft.

There is walking. There is boats. There is minecarts on rails (basically a train), and on PC there is horses, but no horses on consoles yet.

There is also Nether portals, which is handy for going between long distances. Traveling 1 block in the nether is the equivalent of 8 blocks in the earth type world.

lots of fun ways to get around. which are definitely needed cause otherwise you'd be walking forever.

Saw your updated bridge on Sega Forums, looks really impressive. I played some last night and got nowhere, some little shit came over and blew up my damn hole in the ground..

I still don't know how to make a torch, not sure where to get that red stuff..

someone blew up your hole? are you talking about a creeper or are you playing online with people? Creepers love blowing stuff up! they love to sneak up on you too when you least expect it. They've certainly made me jump a few times.

as for the red stuff, it's called redstone, you find it deep underground. You can either explore caves or branch mine. I think it's a good idea to have a branch mine personally. Sometimes I'm not always in the mood to deal with caves, they can get really confusing and you can die sometimes. So I just go into the strip mine instead to get the materials i need. Dig down to level 12 and start digging hallways. On consoles I think you can see cordinates by looking at the map. On PC all you have to do is press F3 and a debug screen comes up. consoles don't do that of course.

here is a screen of our strip mine. give you an idea how to go about it. I say go to level 12 cause thats the best place to find diamonds.

also yeah, the minecart track is complete now. its very awesome. my friend did a great job with the mini-station at the end there. looks awesome.

I also upgraded the "temporary shelter" which was basically my house, my friend moved out of it long ago! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I feel this is my best build in minecraft so far.

I'm gonna play tonight and probably gonna stream it on my twitch channel. I'll probably try to find some fire. Thanks for the tips, not sure how good i'll get at this game, but it's quite enjoyable.

You don't have to be good at building stuff to enjoy the game. If you are enjoying it, then that's all that matters. There is a lot of different ways to enjoy the game. Me personally, I like building stuff that looks awesome, but I'm a designer, so that kinda makes sense.

This was my first house, i was so proud of it, but it's really one big mess of cobblestone on a hill, lol

so don't worry if you feel you suck at building, you'll get better as you keep playing. but if you aren't concerned about that at the moment, then don't worry about it. It's fun to just explore the land and kill mobs if that is what you prefer. Or maybe you'd be interested in building redstone contraptions. Lots to do in the sandbox called Minecraft.

I got the Vita version. its awesome having Minecraft in handheld form.

Probably won't be building anything fancy in my Vita world, but I still plan on playing it often. should be fun. I'll share some screens when I got some substantial things going on.
