Nintendo got screwed hard in the ass by Iizuka. 3 abominations in a row lmfao. What a great deal. I guess lost world was alright for a playthrough.... but man.

Nagoshi too =o i bet Nagoshi is the one who made the deal in the first place, hes the head of SEGA's consumer division.

Nintendo went to every 3rd party and asked what's possible I'd imagine.

Namco Bandai with their Tekken and fighting stuff which got them making Smash Bros., Tekken at launch, Pokken...
Tecmo made them a Musou game (what else!)
Sega, of course, Sonic, Sonic, Sonic

nothin' going with Capcom tough!

yeah that most likely is what happened. and Nagoshi being the smart man business man he is saw a money making opportunity to help fund his big Yakuza game for PS4.

Nagoshi doesn't look very sincere here, IMO. He looks like hes swindling Iwata! Lol

Doesn't SEGA already pay Nintendo big chunks of money for Mario and Sonic at Olympic games? Some money exchange is going on.

Maybe this time they got Mario for free.

That RGG port was completly strange tough! Tough I guess like the Tekken or Samurai Warriors port, those were unnecessary too.

With that Initial D game on 3DS, I think a Mario Kart 8 x Initial D mash-up would make much sense!

Maybe Aki knows. Not sure why SEGA would pay for that when Nintendo makes money from the game series too.

Lets keep with the title topic please Happy Cat. If you guys want to talk about Sonic or the deal between SEGA and Nintendo do it in another topic, maybe in the sonic boom topic, but not here. Thanks.

You are right, Mariano. I apologize. It's easy to get off topic sometimes. Let's try and keep on topic about SEGA's financial report.

How is discussing Sega's financial relationship with nintendo not in line with a topic about a financial report?

Mariano is just being Mariano..

Anyways, i'm not surprised at those Sonic numbers. His numbers could be that much bigger had Sega not teamed up with Nintendo on exclusive games, and had they actually been good.

That is true, but at the same time I can see where Mariano is coming from. Its definitely related but at the same time its easy to derail the topic with such dicussion. Maybe someone could make a topic for it. I personally think it could be quite an amusing topic.

but yeah. I'll let another mod / admin make a decision if we need a separate topic. In the mean time we can keep discussing Nintendo/SEGA here. We can always clean up this topic / move  / delete posts if we decide to give the issue it's own topic.

Talk ablout the deal? yes. Insult games than a lot of people actually play and like? no.
Phrases like "i am not satisfied with the quality of this game" are fan better than phrases like "this game is a pice of shit".

It's not a problem, it would help to lighten up a tiny bit. =)

A mutual screw lol. For someone who was excited with the anouncement and validation of my console purchase when sonic lost world and the deal was anounced, I feel more burned by SEGA in this. By now it just feels like a franchise on a leash doing its owner a favour by force. Doesnt matter if backed by other's money or not, it gives a horrible impression to me as a SEGAfan of what value they see in their assets. Which looks mostly like $ I Assume. And none of <3

By now they might as well sell off the IP since it aint gonna be worth **it in a couple of years. Far from what it used to. And since they've made losses plus downscaling, it doesnt bode well for anything I thin. Well except  for nagoshi's child yakuza. I still like you nagoshi, but you gotta step it up with the other franchises. Reform sonicteam please!

Not really..because Sega had the license to the Olympics which Nintendo saw as an oppurtunity. The deal that was worked out was Nintendo published the game in asia..while Sega took the rest of the market worldwide. Nintendo if you include the license..had a exclusive game..which made money..a license they didn't pay for..a game that helped sell the Wii systems and the percentage cuts each unit/game that was sold. So Nintendo got a lot from that game. It also put Sega in a position they were after since they became third party...becoming the go to guy for the console makers...it only worked with Nintendo..and a leser extent Sony. Which is why that deal with Sonic happened in the first place since Sonic was the only non nintendo character to help shift Wii units and sell big on that platform with the various titles that was released on it..and NDS...
You then add in the other Sega games that sold well on Wii...and you can see why they wanted to continue that relationship...only problem is Nintendo didn't expect Sega to screw it up..which they managed to do already..with the sonic games for WiiU.
