Sega to Host Panels at MomoCon 2015
« on: May 05, 2015, 07:44:52 pm »
I believe this hasn't been made topic before.
I do enjoy Kori-Maru's coverages last year on MomoCon 2014.
Happy to know that he's gonna attending again.  :-D

Quote
MomoCon, the largest gaming expo in the Southeast U.S., has announced that Gearbox Software, Sega and ThatGameCompany will be hosting panels at this year’s event. Also in attendance will be Hi-Rez Studios, Vlambeer and over 130 other companies exhibiting their games to an expected audience of 20,000 gamers.
Planned Panels:
  • Sega 3D classics – a discussion regarding remastering masterpieces
  • TEMBO THE BADASS ELEPHANT - playable demo
  • Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax!
  • Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX
MomoCon 2015 will be taking place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31.

So MomoCon is a games convention? Some things I just avoid all knowledge of based solely on the name...(bad practise I know.) MomoCon is one of them.

From the name I thought it was a creepy anime convention.

Yep that is the image I had too... Creepy little girl anime with fat sweaty neck-beards circling like sharks.

Rrrr.. actually... so did I. MomoCon sounded like in the same league with lolicon or yuri con.  ;-D

But seeing Kori-Maru's video last year playing classic Shinobi at MomoCon, suddenly I realized how wrong I was.

What does the 'MoMo' stand for? I'm too scared to click the link at work in case it brings up lots of little girls in bikinis or something.

You guys sound like out of touch old men. "Wuh? Momo? That have pedos and little girlies in their underpants?"

From all accounts, MomoCon is a cool event. Great to see SEGA hosting panels.

As far as the name, a simple Google search will tell you that "momo" is "peach tree" in Japanese. The convention is in Georgia, peaches are the state fruit. it's not some skeevy reference to something.

Thanks for taking one for the team Bazza.

Also I noticed Gearbox and Sega are both going to be hosting panels. I wonder if they'll be flinging shit at eachother the whole time? Or maybe Gearbox will sell Sega a bridge in Connecticut somewhere for a great price.

A full on Gearbox meltdown would make the event. God, I wish I was there for some mic grabbing douchery asking them why they are such hacks.

Is Randy Pitchford still with Gearbox?
I haven't (and don't wanna) read anything tied with Gearbox after Alien:CM incident, emotional reason.
