The comics were (well, "are", since they still have 3 issues to go) enjoyable. They felt like a throwback to the old Archie Sonic comics before they became much more serious in the late 90s and early 00s - Archie Sonic has since leveled out to a nice balance of humor and drama. The Boom comics break the fourth wall quite a bit, and there is one reference Cubot makes a funny reference to the many henchman duos throughout the years of the franchise - Scratch & Grounder (AoStH), Sleet & Dingo (Underground), Bocoe & Decoe (X). The first four issues only include the core cast, likely because the comics team didn't have the show to work off of and only were given the characters. But issues 5-7 & 11 feature the expanded cast from the TV series. Issues 8-10 are a part of the Sonic/Mega Man crossover so really don't count aside from the occasional appearances of Sticks, Comedy Chimp, and Fastidious Beaver.
