Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka recently claimed that Shadow wasn't inspired by Dragon Ball Z's Vegeta, despite concept art revealing that to be the case.

It's not noticeable at first but yes.
New anime tends to use 3DCG animated now, may be it's quicker to make.

It is. I prefer 2D animation myself but won't deny 3D animation has come a long way to be just as good as 2D.

Seeing the still images of those 3D anime I kinda expected that they would be bad but turned out they're not that bad after seeing them in motion.

A long time a go, I wasn't a fan of 3D animation. I feared it would replace 2D animation out of convenience (my fears being confirmed when Disney did just that after Frog Princess). But not only do I admit 3D animation has come a long way that it can look appealing but, like how people feared streaming services will replace cinema, I see my fears are moot.

It's actually understandable.
We're sometimes thinking about things that MIGHT happen and getting afraid of it even though we have no idea what's going to come to pass.

Back then I kinda despised mobile gaming and fear that mobile gaming would replace console and PC gaming.
And yet here I am now ... playing this colab mobile game a lot more than my this year's all of my console gaming hours combined.
