The first one is the campaign's titular crusaders, the Teutonic Order.

The Teutonic Order have a reputation for both fanatical devotion and ruthless efficiency on the battlefield.
From their base in modern-day Germany, their well-equipped and highly trained armies march to purge paganism from the land.
Their Ritterbrüder knights are rightly feared as savage opponents on the battlefield, but the cost of their upkeep may prove crippling.
Constant momentum is required to maintain these medieval juggernauts — as the settlements to the east provide rich targets for plunder.

To resist the Teutonic expansion they'll need to maximise the mobility and adaptability of their lighter troops, and the opportunity for ambushing that their homelands provide.
Trained as raiders, their Tartar cavalry are masters of the hit-and-run, while Followers of Perkunas carry the fire of the old gods in their hearts and armour-piercing war scythes in their hands.
Despite these strengths, canny tactics will be needed to drive out the invaders.

However, when the time comes to go on the offensive, it is their cavalry who shine, and none moreso than the Boyar Sons, who are master javelin skirmishers and capable swordfighters both.
