Here in Canada we've got 3 levels of Police. Federal, provincial, and municipal.
Bigger Cities have their own police services. Ontario and Quebec both have their own provincial police that cover small towns and provincial laws (liquor laws, highway laws, etc...).  The Mounties (RCMP) cover federal laws (guns & drugs), and pretty much everything else outside of Ontario and Quebec.

If I went out for RCMP, I could get shipped anywhere in Canada (it's a big country), so I'm going for OPP (provincial police) because I'd like to be kinda close to my family.

The OPP uniform looks more like this


Fun fact: Paul McCartney has an OPP patch on his left arm in all the Sgt. Pepper stuff

That is pretty interesting. Too bad you won't get to ride a horse, but those are some of the better looking police uniforms I've seen. Do police carry guns in Canada? Can't tell from that pic.

Yes. The standard gear goes like this: Gun, baton, OC spray, taser, and handcuffs.
The kind of guns used depend on the police service (RCMP use different ones than the OPP).
In Ontario, it's all regulated as far as exactly what types of guns officers are given.
