Talking to nobody in particular:
If you're online, and you read a story, why in the world would you head to another site and give them grief for missing the story? You got the information, shouldn't that satisfy you? And if you care enough to tell other sites that they missed it, why not submit a news tip instead of acting surprised that a piece of news did not get posted? Not to mention that inevitably, the site that posted the news first, likely missed their fair share of stories. I should note that often, the news being touted as being "missed" was actually posted at some crazy hour that somebody in my timezone wouldn't be awake to even see just yet.
tl;dr - submit a news tip. its better than giving me grief for "missing" something.
