RetroArch Brings Sega Genesis Emulation to Steam with 32X Support

Quote
Picodrive supports Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Master System, Sega CD, and even 32X games. You can download the RetroArch Picodrive emulator here on Steam.
There are two other RetroArch emulators on Steam via both the Genesis Plus GX multi-platform emulator and Final Burn Neo, however Picodrive goes a bit further by finally supporting 32X games.
Anyone that was using the play test version of their emulator should migrate over to the mainline Steam release.

Feature: How United Games Entertainment Is Bridging The Gap Between Japan And The West

Quote
SLG isn't the only company that is operating in the market when it comes to physical releases – how does your approach differ from that of your rivals?

DM: It is very important to give a stage to all these great games and to support their preservation for the generations to come, so every rival helps to achieve this.
But we also work hard to make things different by going the extra mile just for the sake of providing the best possible result.
Let’s take Turrican Flashback for example. The game is available through ININ in retail, but what we will deliver to the fans who bought their version from SLG will be very much a different experience.
Due to some unexpected delays that we experienced and which unfortunately were beyond our control, we decided to use the additional time for adding new features.

Book review: The SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Encyclopedia

Quote
Former CVG and Official Nintendo Magazine scribe Chris Scullion turns to the dark side for his third exhaustive unofficial encyclopedia, taking us on a tour of not just the entire western SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis catalogue, but the Mega CD and 32X as well.
As someone more than familiar with the Mega Drive library, it was a delight to find it peppered with tidbits of knowledge, such as SEGA Sports’ NFL 97 heading to Saturn and skipping the Genesis, only to return to the 16-bit console the following year.
When it comes to the sports games, in particular, it’s clear Scullion went out of his way to make each entry a worthwhile read – a task far harder than it may sound.
