Trivia : The symbols Sonic was spinning on the Owl Statue are meant to be Babylonian

Quote
Tyson Hesse told us after the film that the symbols Sonic is spinning on the Owl Statue are meant to be Babylonian as a deep cut Riders reference.
The idea was since the owls and Babylon Rogues are birds that it’d be a fun connection.

Sonic the Hedgehog Series Wouldn't Recast Dr. Robotnik If Jim Carrey Retires

Quote
"Jim Carrey is always a member of the Sonic family and he'll always have a place in these movies and TV shows as long as he'd like to be around. We love Jim and he's so special, and what he does with Robotnik is so incredible. We would love him as long as he'd like to be there with us," said Ascher.
"And I have a feeling that he loves Robotnik so much that I don't think he'll be able to walk away from him," Moritz added. After IGN pointed out the difficulty in trying to recast the role, Moritz added that they "wouldn't even try."

This is why Paramount should've aimed for SEGA Cinematic Universe instead of Sonic Cinematic Universe.
But may be guess SEGA wouldn't let them so they just use what they could. Who knows.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked GUN in the movie, I just think it did not need an introduction. Especially by the most whitest guy they had in a hawaiian shirt. He's no Nick Fury with the Helicarrier.
Director doesn't want to stick to the original comic book material wasn't a new thing.
Lot of examples of these and hopefully they learned the lessons.
Hopefully. I can't imagine a Mask movie reboot, especially if it dares to be more like the comics.
Yes, that's more interesting. Also in Frogger 3D (3DS), there are many frogs where the protagonist frog can ride on to help him on the journey. A big giant frog, a frog that could emit light, a frog that could jump very far (but had trouble to make short jump), etc. They could make a cast of those many frogs as characters like on Angry Bird movie so the protagonist wasn't the only frog in the movie.

Perhaps. A whole cast of frogs trying to navigate through a dangerous city, all the while following the leader Frogger.
Idris Elba and Jim Carrey on Elba's 'Sexy' Knuckles Voice for 'Sonic The Hedgehog 2'

Article : https://www.etonline.com/idris-elba-and-jim-carrey-on-elbas-sexy-knuckles-voice-for-sonic-the-hedgehog-2-exclusive-181832
He said he wouldn't make Knuckles sound sexy... he failed, yet no one is upset by it.
All in all, I really liked his portrayal of Knuckles. He made Knuckles just a bit dumb like from Sonic Boom but still retains the respect for the character that he had in the games. My friend compared him to Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy.
This one is Official Soundtrack for Japanese version of Sonic Movie 2

Honestly I prefer the original music video, but it's nice to hear the song in English.

Even I didn't know the owls were actually the Babylons. I just figured with was a race thing between Echidnas and Owls.

I'm glad. If Jim Carrey wants to retire I am all for his decision to do so. All I ask is to continue his role as Dr. Robotnik in the movies if he can.

And if the TV series turns out to be animated, they could always get Micheal Daingerfield, Rob Paulsen or Matt Frewer for the role of animated Dr. Robotnik. They all voiced cartoon versions of Jim Carrey at one point in their careers.
(Heck the animated series of The Mask and Ace Ventura had a crossover.)

I hope the movie is doing well in ticket sales. Rotten Tomatoes has given it average reviews.

I'm kinda dissapointed Neal McDonough wasn't back in Sonic Movie 2.
I always love him as a villain.
He got this annoying face that somehow make him perfect as villain.

His cast as Damien Darhk was also spot on.
And used to be happy when he was cast as Bison on Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li,
but the movie was so bad it's such a waste.

Perhaps. A whole cast of frogs trying to navigate through a dangerous city, all the while following the leader Frogger.

And that would be more suited to animated movies like Angry Birds or Despicable Me.
So if Ben Schwartz want to be the lead cast, he's probably just becoming a voice actor
.......... which not too different with Sonic movie.

He said he wouldn't make Knuckles sound sexy... he failed, yet no one is upset by it.

Idris Elba said Knuckles is type of guy who's "straight to the point"
So I think it's not as dumb as Boom version.
Boom version tends to pause first before saying something.

Honestly I prefer the original music video, but it's nice to hear the song in English.

The avatar (or vtuber?) feels cringe to me, but I still like the song.

Amen to that

I think cartoon version's right was already acquired by Wildbrain and Netflix with Sonic Prime, so I doubt Paramount could make one soon.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Director Says He's Open To Making A Smash Bros. Movie

Quote
"Nothing would make me happier than to just throw all the characters into a battle royale and do a big Smash Bros. thing.
That would probably require some work from the lawyers before that could happen"
"Getting Mario and Sonic in the ring, I mean everyone would be kinda dying for that, right? That's just classic."

Join Brian Shea as he sits down with Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, and director Jeff Fowler to discuss all the things fans should look forward to in Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
To kick things off, Ben and James chat with Shea about what it was like to film the live-action scenes when the former basically had to imagine his furry companion being alongside him.

Him getting cummupance against Dr. Robotnik would be great. I can imagine him getting Robotnik on the ground and saying "The day your ass gets rightfully handed to you would be the day nobody cares.".
And that would be more suited to animated movies like Angry Birds or Despicable Me.

True. SO frogger movie is not that impossible.
Idris Elba said Knuckles is type of guy who's "straight to the point"
So I think it's not as dumb as Boom version.
Boom version tends to pause first before saying something.
Yeah Movieverse Knuckles is not sharpest but definitely on point which makes him great.
The avatar (or vtuber?) feels cringe to me, but I still like the song.
I agree.
I think cartoon version's right was already acquired by Wildbrain and Netflix with Sonic Prime, so I doubt Paramount could make one soon.
I imagine Sonic Prime Robotnik will be voiced by Mike Pollock, that is if he said anything on the role. If Sonic Prime has an episode where Sonic visits the movieverse then yeah I imagine Rob Paulson or Micheal Daingerfield for the role of animated movieverse Dr. Robotnik. Or if the upcomming Sonic the Series will be animated then I doubt Jim Carrey will voice the role. I mean he never did in any of his movies animated series.

Open to the idea sure... but honestly, rather not see it happen. Even if Movie Sonic goes to the world established in the upcomming Super Mario movie I just don't want to see such crossover happen. TO me that's just something that will either end up really good or really bad and will leave much fandoms divided over it.

I'd rather Jeff Fowler, or at least Paramount itself press Sega for the rights to make other Sega movies to make that cinematic universe I go on about. But Sonic only has two movies so far and I don't want it to be contaminated with crossovers outside of Sega franchses.

I mean... bah, I dunno. Inspired by StarKids I thought "What if it would be cool if these guys made a Sonic and Mario stageplay?" Those guys always knew how to mix great comedy into their parodies while applying the right degree of drama and sincerity to take the source materials seriously and I can imagine a Smash Bros. adaption like this... but not really for the big screen.

Yeah, the only animated ones he's done were movies (A Christmas Carol and Horton Hears a Who!), not TV series.
Rob Paulson or Micheal Daingerfield would do well to replace him.

It doesn't have limited to be a live action movie.
It could be just an animated movie.
Like Wreck-It-Ralph.
The movie has SEGA, Capcom, Namco, and Nintendo characters.

’Sonic 2’ earns $71m at North American box office in critical family film launch

Quote
The result from 4,234 theatres came in approximately 22% above the pre-pandemic original’s $58m three-day February 2020 and sets up the film heading into spring break.
It also offers encouragement to exhibition as family audiences show they are willing to turn up for appealing, commercial fare after two years of Covid-19.

Jim Carrey On Whether He Prefers Playing Dumb Or Smart Characters

Quote
"I think smart and completely dumb are essential parts of my character in life. And they assert themselves individually from time to time.
I think sometimes you do things in your life and you think, 'Well, maybe I'm a pretty smart animal.' And then there are other times you just go, 'No, I haven't learned a thing.' (Laughs)
So it's just a great thing to be able to play the spectrum, and to be thought of that way is wonderful.
Obviously, I had to dumb it down a little bit to play a guy with a 300 IQ, but ... No, this character's so much fun, and he's the contrast to Sonic."

'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' director on the Jim Carrey scenes that were 'heartbreaking' to cut from the movie

Quote
"Jim and Lee (Majdoub, who plays Agent Stone), they're so great together and do so much funny stuff, and it is heartbreaking that it all can't make the movie because it's just so fun to watch the two of them.
We had a few more scenes inside the Mean Bean where they were just being themselves, and it was so fun and so hilarious, but at the end of the day it wasn't necessarily moving the story forward as much as would be required to earn a place in the movie."
