Really he was hard, I guess he was. What I remember is being extremly reckless cause I wanted that mother fucker dead, turns out he was just over powerful lol.

If my memory serves me correctly their are 3 - 4 times you think the fucking game has ended.

Every case member is just as surprised as we were, but the scales go higher and higher and you just have to man up. Motivia isn't the only Planet Dying it gets much larger in scope.

This is also the question Chaz asks himself immediately after the incident, after the incident it was for revenge, then it was the planet, now what do you think it will be for?

About ten hours in now. I just beat Dark Force, which I remember is the section I got stuck on and gave up before (because it is freaking hard and takes a long time to get to it). Everything from here on out is completely new to me, I cannot even make guesses as to what I will see.

That is an awesome feeling, most games I play now I am usually aware of more than half of the content before I pick it up.

@Wilhelm: Are you sure I am about half way in? Aki keeps telling me it is still a long way off.

@Cube_b3: Brilliant remix! I love how SEGA used to remix all of their great songs like that.

EDIT: I will be posting great Phantasy Star IV music in each post now, because that is what I feel like doing.

Cory how do you know Sega did that remix, the gentlemen who uploaded this track gave no information, is this by Sega Digital Sound Team? I'll need a source please.

Phantasy Star Sound Collection 1 and 2. They are easy to find, but not cheap. There are MP3s everywhere of them though.

We are all vicariously playing PSIV with you, so not giving us an update for over 2 weeks is not right.

Mass Effect 2 sucked up my life and made me realize I do not like Phantasy Star IV that much anymore, not saying it sucks, I am just not all that into it. I have to grind a lot before entering the next area, so every time I have played recently has not been fun at all.

Still want to beat it, but only because it is something I wanted to do for years.

It is a lot more fun on an emulator, I played the dungeons at 8 times the actual game speed. Only downside you can't enjoy the music but I hear the newer emulators may have found a way to combat that, I don't know.

P.S. It is okay for someone to say they suck for today's standard. I beat it on an emulator it would've been really annoying on the Genesis.

Bumping this topic because I am dedicated to beating it. Before this year even started I made it my goal to be if there was just one game I beat this year, it would be this.

I delayed playing through it for a number of reasons, but now is the best time to get back in as I have the most free time.

I got kind of far then hit a damn brick wall. Seriously, the Air Castle is a bitch. Any help on that?

Rooting for you and you have balls of steel.

Cause I played the game via an emulator 8 times it actual speed so grinding the pesky mazes wasn't that big of a deal.

I never managed to finish it and feel ashamed. I've restarted the game many times but always ended up playing other games instead. I really should give it a good run one day...

@CrazyTails I played through Phantasy Star IV, Phantasy Star II, and the original Phantasy Star a few months ago never played through the entirety of them before that. They are all still great if you like turn based rpg's. Phantasy Star IV is definitely the easiest to get back into, plenty of story told through gorgeous manga style "cutscenes", easier combat, less required grinding, dungeons you can get through (if you have a decent memory) without following a map online or making your own, best graphics of the original series, likeable characters and the plentiful story is actually very good. Phantasy Star and Phantasy Star II are fun not as much story as IV but they both tell a good one, I used online maps for some of the dungeons to speed things along, some of them would definitely require you to use one or draw your own and the originals first person dungeons get confusing if you fall through a trap door, and are both heavy on required grinding . I wanted to play Phantasy Star III despite all the hate it receives but couldn't get into it, different character design, different combat, and a different environment. Will play through it sometime in the future when I have the time and patience to get into it.
