Samba de Amigo Wii - CGI intro is just so good!

I had forgotten about this intro... Everything about it is just perfect... I'm not even a massive Samba de Amigo fan, but I do really like the character and setting. I think they really captured the mood and madness of the series with this intro.

Amazing! I never ever knew that SdA Wii had a CG intro! As a big Dreamcast Samba de Amigo fan, I really love it. Gonna add that baby to my iPod Touch.

Edit: just noticed that this is where SASASR got some track ideas from, I always wondered where those mountains with sunglasses came from. Don't recall them being in the DC version.

The Wii release had tons of new level designs, including my favorite 3D version of Green Hill Zone ever.

The CG intro was made by Marza Animation Planet back when they were known as SEGA VE, and yes, it is wonderful.

It'd be pretty cool if they ported this to the move.
The biggest drawback to the Dreamcast version is the amount of setup required, and the cords swinging around.
The Wii version has the hardware limitation of not really being able to tell the height of wii remotes (I applaud Gearbox's efforts to get around this though).

With a move version, they could get around all of these issues. I would also buy this game a third time, because I love it so.

A Move Port would be wonderful :D. Heck, just bring the Wii game to PSN.

Not to contradict, but the real Samba de Amigo WII developer (behind the scenes) is Escalation Studios http://http://www.escalationstudios.com/projects/samba-de-amigo-wii/, probably Gearbox oversaw the project in conjunction with SEGA ;-)

It would be a big missed opportunity if they didn't port Samba Wii to Move and even Kenect with refined controls.

Then again missed opportunity is Sega's middle name.

I'll bet you the Kinect could track a real pair of maracas. I've played some Kinect Sports games where even a small shake of the hand was registered. Or even better, SEGA makes a pair of maracas for the Kinect.

Agreed. If SEGA ports this to the Move I'll be getting it for sure.

I used to play Samba de Amigo a lot in the arcades and I would love to be able to play it again!

Samba is the most Perfect family friendly game and the most perfect Kenect game I can think of . All it needs its some cheap Plastic Maracas (like those with DC Samba, Just minus the sensors) and that it's it.

It's so bloody perfect

I love the crazy art direction of Samba de Amigo.  I played it a bit on the Dreamcast, but never with the maracas, so of course I don't feel like I got the true experience.  I think it would work really well with both the Move and the Kinect.

Gear Box is pretty busy these days, does that mean the 4th entry in the Samba series could be made Sonic Team again?

Or Sumo Digital?

I think Sumo Digital can pull off a pretty good Samba de Amigo for Kinect.

And they would probably be much more willing to put classic SEGA music in it too. Magical Sound Shower would be perfect for this game.
