Nintendo admits to ...

Using Xbox360 and PS3 gameplay in their E3 presentation reel when showing off what the Wii-U can do.

Quote
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has admitted that many of the videos used in the Wii U showreel at E3 consisted of footage from Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the games, but insisted that Wii U games will be comparable.

Huh, this is interesting. I heard that the Wii U is supposed to be on par with the PS3/360 visually but I guess will have to wait and see for ourselves now.

Not too shocking considering it's typical for game companies to use whatever they can to demonstrate their product (Killzone 2 at E3 2005, X360 games running on Mac). It would've been nice if they'd mentioned that at the presser, but either way haters gonna hate.

At least Vita stuff ran on the damn unit. Companies need to prepare their announcements. This is why they always fail to deliver.

Yeah I heard about this a few days ago. I'm sure the graphics will look just as good but still... it means htere was nothing that was actually on show in terms of real games.

They had a 'tech demo' or two. But according to the MEGA 64 guys, it was set up in a grandma living room and no one was allowed to touch it.

I don't see the 'we will get the hardcore' thing. They focused on a gimmick controller... then showed a list of Nintendo games, all recycled stuff they have done for the last 20 years...then 3rd party ports of stuff we can get on PS3/360.

^Not to mention that because this thing isn't out until 2012 sometime, everyone will have played and finished a whole lot of those games anyway.

Also, I've read on several sites that the Wii U will be limited to one of those controllers per system. So I guess if you want to play with friends you need some spare Wii-remotes.

Actually some Nintendo developers were saying that it technically can support at least two of those new controllers, but that they hadn't decided whether or not they were going to make any games that utilize two of them... (which I think confirms suspicions that they'll be extremely expensive)... and that designing a game to use four of them was almost certainly not going to happen.  I think they need to at least utilize two of them for sports games where you're calling your plays on the controller screen.
