New Gaming Regime
« on: June 26, 2011, 04:16:30 pm »
I don't know how it happened but my time with video games got trimmed to a point of non existence, often beating less then one game a month.

Last year I believe I finished 4 games.

I also stuck with the Dreamcast till 2005, so I missed out on a lot of classics, these days I am trying to finish atleast one game a month although I get to finish them in about 3 months.

This year I started with Condemned 2, abandoned it in favor of Alan Wake which I finished in a record breaking 5 weeks was in the middle of my 2nd playthrough on hard mode when I bought PS3 and started playing Head Hunter redemption.

It took me almost 2 months to beat it and immediately I started playing Uncharted the next day.

So this is what I've designed for myself:

Beat one current gen game on 360/PS3.
Then play a retro game.

While I don't have a planned list of current gen games to play I do own several PS2 games that i've not touched:

* DMC Trilogy
* Onimusha Trilogy
* Rule of Roses (will be my next game after Uncharted)
* Tekken 4 (have played it numerous times just haven't finished it with every character/force mode)
* Soul Calibur 2
and probably a few more.

I just thought I share it to organize my own thoughts.

In one line:
Beat a current gen game, then play a retro game.

P.S. it is strange calling PS2 games retro.

I find that gaming 'plans' usually don't work out that well for me. I just play whatever I want to play at the time. I had 'planned' to start LA Noire when I finished Ninja Gaiden and Witcher, but then Shadows of the Damned came out and now my thoughts are 'Every other game can go fuck itself'.

I think you might want to check out Deadly Premonition, some may call it a bad game because of its Dreamcast-like Graphics and production values, and its gameplay being a bit rough, and rather repititve, but the story, characters, atmosphere, OST, are wonderful, its one of my favorite games this generation.

Good job setting up a game plan. With all the games out today, it's tough to beat the ones you want without setting up some sort of priority list.

Yeah it was getting out of control and I didn't know what to do and what order.

I still don't know what order, but atleast now I have a procedure.

Beat a Retro pick up a current gen.
Beat a Current Gen pick up a retro.

I wonder when i'll play Shenmue 2 :P.
