Project Mirai seems like a perfect fit for this platform now. Hopefully SEGA makes the $$$$$

Nintendo seems to be done advertising to the Wii audience.

BTW Let's not be shocked that Nintendo is advertising the new 3DS like this, this is basically been the way they do their advertising since the DS was launched. The whole idea behind the DS is that its aimed more at teen-tweenty something mainstream demographic that lives in cities. Thus their street pass features make sense.

ALso they have always loved advertising with celebrities and always talk about how 40-50% of DS owners are women. Nothing new here, but yeah. I wish they just released this here now instead of making us wait a holiday season with a inferior 3DS.

Yeah Nintendo has had celebrities advertise their products before. This is very different from any of their past advertisements though. This particular celebrity is an otaku magnet. If Nintendo ever had any intention of appealing to the expanded audience they created they would of never created an ad like this. The expanded audience sees Otaku culture as shameful. Especially the older generations. One of Japan's political figures has even commented on how Japan culture is headed in a horrible direction. I mean. I guess I can see why older people think such, Japan in their life time used to be very different. Now it's super colorful and energetic, and lots of anime. Probably makes them so angry! Damn kids, ruining Japan! Probably similar to how people in the US think allowing gay marriage is destroying the country.

I mean just look at the ad. Nintendo is blatantly targeting Otaku. I don't see anything wrong with that though. Otaku and gamers are big overlapping demographics in Japan.

Otaku is a good audience, just ask Sony! Sony rolling in Otaku money, they love the Vita.

Pretty much, yeah. That's okay though! Greatness Awaits.

Sounds like the build up for a real life Battle Royale, haha.

I completely forgot that the XL versions of DS products were initially intended for older people.
