Wait a second, how do we even know this game is coming to the west on release?. Almost None of Hatsune Miku's Games have been released to the West at the same time as Japan's release date. They usually take year's to come prior after Japan's release date, my point being Hatsune Miku is always released first in Japan then hopefully month's or year's later in the West. So with this information and SEGA having a known record for developing those game's themselves, I am confident to say that this has nothing to do with Yakuza's Development Studio's game and is probably not the game Haruki Satomi was talking about.

I'm right there with you. No way can this be the Yakuza team's new game (Unless its some high fancy role playing dance rhythm game) mainly because Project Diva 2nd F came out last March and they'd have to have been making something new since then (Since Mirai is handled by AM2 and is only a fancy repackaging of 1 and 2)

This isn't the Yakuza team's new game.

It's a new game by the Miku team, nothing to be unhappy about. Unless you wanted the Miku team to make a new IP!

Hey if you like Hatsune Miku, that's great. Their fine rhythm games but you gotta understand why fans of a company won't be thrilled about this being the only thing coming west?

But that would mean you'd have to actually like SEGA games.

I'm pretty sure we would have gotten the same complain in the Dreamcast era of Phantasy Star Online stayed in Japan and only Space Channel 5 was brought over...
Who said anything about localization? We don't know if this new game will be brought over, it could even be an arcade only game.

And really, there's nothing wrong with more Miku. The effort it'd take to localize something like Miku is a small fraction of the effort it'd take to localize PSO2, so it's not like it's preventing PSO2 from getting localized at all. Really the massive amount of content they'd have to localize, the huge updates, the servers, the risk of there not being a lasting community, all of the licensed stuff in the Japanese updates, and how late Sega is with localizing are each likely bigger factors into it not getting localized.

Oh, and there are fans of the company who are excited to get more Miku. Of course there are people who wouldn't be interested, but that argument could be made for any game Sega could localize, including PSO2.

I'm fine with that, like I stated in my original post I agree with you and that SEGA fans hate is misguided. But you didn't read it.

I've always wanted the Miku dev to make a Yakuza, haha.

I'm cool with another Miku, if that's what some people want. Here's hoping for something new from the Yakuza team.

If this is the TGS project SEGA talked about its quite disappointing and a bit of a face palm moment really.

But this isn't the only game they have.

1. Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 4
2. This title.
3. Yakuza Studio's New title.

Plus that Sonic Team game in the works. I wouldn't say its that weak compared to... post 2012. But if your expecting 10+ old revival IPs, of course you are going to be disappointed.

I'm hoping all these new games are going to be heading to PS4. It might give the games more of a chance to be localized, given how successful the PS4 is outside of Japan.

I dunno if you read but Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 4 is coming to PS4 and Yakuza Studio's new game is like 99% sure coming to PS4 (considering they only do Sony games mostly).

I was mostly refering to the new Hatsune Miku game and the Yakuza Team's game. For the Miku game, the problem I'm seeing is that they'll probably be looking into at least a PS Vita port. And I'm not sure how they can manage the gap in power between the PS Vita and the PS4. This is what Project DIVA Arcade looks like while running at 60fps:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvoystBbq7g

Porting that game to PS4 and PC should be perfectly doable, I think the PS4 is more or less comparable to the Sega Nu arcade board that Project DIVA arcade is running on. But that's in a completely different league from the PS Vita. Of course, this might be irrelevant if it's not Project DIVA arcade that they'll be announcing. I guess we'll know soon enough.

The new game from the Yakuza Team is going to be on PS4 no doubt, but I hope it won't be another PS3 port that's running on the old Yakuza engine again. Sega is lagging behind the competition in terms of PS4 games, in part because they continue to support the PS3. And in the west, the PS3 is really on its way out.

PS4 in Fall 2016, PS Vita Early 2016. For Japan. No worldwide release date announced yet, but if i had to take a guess, I'm guessing Fall 2016 is when it will be released worldwide. As I'm guessing the PS4 version exists for a more global audience.

Looks like they're going with the 2D/3D Project DIVA F-style for the characters again rather than the 3D Arcade style. Visually they probably can't push the PS Vita version a lot farther than they did for Project DIVA F 2nd. I'm hoping for a 1080P/60fps version on PS4.
