HarleQuest! (SEGA Dreamcast) - February 2025 Update

We have just released the latest Dreamcast demo build, HarleQuest! Demo 4 (the same one we showed at the Debug Awards).

Like the previous demo, this build showcases the first floor of the Dungeon culminating in a fight with the first boss, The Executioner.
It reflects the current state of the game including the following changes since the last demo:

- 60fps performance on the Dreamcast.
- Updated combat & controls (block and aim moved to right trigger).
- Sound effects play on many actions.
- Area-specific background music playing via CD direct audio.
- Procedural area generation (previous demo was fixed layout).
- Updated camera (now more zoomed in, but looks ahead where player is moving).
- Enemies now fade out consistently after defeat.
- Chests always emit items in the correct direction.

I watched the Suffering of Animals soundtrack videos before in Safety Stoat Studios youtube channel and I thought they're the title of the songs, turned out it's the title of the game.

Added The Three Stoges for SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive

The original Cinemaware hit THE THREE STOOGES for the first time on the Sega Megadrive/Genesis!
Can the Stooges help the poor widow save the orphanage from I. Fleeceem, the evil banker?  Moe, Larry, and Curly have only 30 days to earn enough money to stop Fleecem from foreclosing.  To pay off the mortgage, they'll need $5000.  With $10,000 they can pay off the mortgage AND repair the orphanage.

The Cursed Legacy (SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive) Kickstarter - Physical rewards update!

This game is an original implementation of the well known chess rooks puzzle. The chess rooks puzzle is a variation of the well known eight queens puzzle game with rooks used instead of queens. The eight queens puzzle was first published in 1848 by Max Bezzel. A generalisation of the eight queens puzzle , to an n by n sized chessboard, for some value n, has also been known and studied since the 19th century.

In the chess rooks puzzle, which is a one player game, game you are given an n by n sized chessboard, for some value n, and n rooks. To solve the puzzle you must arrange the rooks so they are all on used on the board and none of the rook capture any other rook. A rook is captured in some straight line according to the rules of chess.

So the game design is not an original idea-as it is already a known chess puzzle game that has been played for over a hundred years-but the Sega Master System implementation is an original implementation and includes a novel feedback artificial intelligence. The Master System game is an implementation of this old known game where n is equal to 16 (i.e. a 16 by 16 chessboard).
