Red Dead Redemption
« on: February 18, 2010, 07:44:00 pm »
This is probably my most wanted 2010 game right now!
I loved the first Red Dead (Revolver) it was such a great game with satisfying gameplay, it even had a multiplayer too!

Now this one is more GTA-ish (even though its from the same developers) but it still look amazing! You like western movies like Clint Eastwood movies? I do! this will probably  be good game for western fans.

I remember, I think I was watching Deadwood or something and just thought to myself how amazing the landscape and scenery was in old west movies like Magnificent Seven, then thinking about how great an open-world game set in the Wild West could be.

You could travel from town to town, helping out Sheriffs and Outlaws, ride trains, hunt animals, fight or help out 'Injuns' etc. At the time Call of Juarez was coming out, but I didn't think that FPS was the way to go to best make an old west game, considering the limited weapons and how little exploring is done in linear shooters.

Then I heard about Red Dead Redemption, and it seemed like everything I was hoping for.

tl;dr: Game looks awesome bro.

Man, where is this love of non-Japanese developed games coming from?!

No but seriously, Red Dead Redemption is one of the games I am looking forward to a lot. I've loved Westerns since I was a kid and every time a Western comes around, be it a film or a video game, my interests are always perked. But this one looks like it can be potentially one of the best games this generation with all the attention to detail they've gone too, so far every piece of media they've released for the game has me thinking this is going to be great.

Now the only thing they need is a Clint Eastwood cameo!

I've been looking forward to a sequel ever since playing through Red Dead Revolver. My nephew and I played a lot of multiplayer and would pick some characters just to laugh at what they say.

I didn't like GTA4 but this looks a bit different to it, maybe when it hits bargain bins.

I am really excited for it too. I liked Grand Theft Auto IV, but I felt it was fairly weak with exploration, this looks like it is going to fix that, the setting alone is enough to get me hyped beyond belief.

Any word if this will have online multiplayer like GTAIV? It better! Imagine how amazing it would be to shoot up a whole town with your buddies online... Or save it!

I would rather they ignored multiplayer and focused on the single player. GTAIV's mutliplayer was pretty shit. Maybe, maybe a co-op mode, but apart from that don't bother I say.

Then the port comes to PC and PS3 a few months later.

  YAY EXTRA CONTENT!

What happen when developers made extra content for re-releases later at a budget price? Now they come out as DLC, then later repackaged at full price? Did I miss something here>?
