Geist Force (Dreamcast) - release 2011!
« on: March 29, 2011, 11:59:30 am »
Who remembers Geist Force for the Dreamcast? It was showed at the E3 1998 and on the TGS 1998, it was supposed to be a sort of Star Fox. The game always looked pretty good, but unfortunately it was canned by SEGA in 1999 and since then nobody ever saw it again.

Well now an ex SEGA Amerika employee sold a beta build of it for about 700 $ to the Assemblerforum. And here is the first video of it

They will release the game in the next months. This are great news for all Dreamcast fans.

Here other videos of it:

And this is my video of the TGS 98 presentation of it (bad quality)

And this was the original cover for the jap. version.

Here's hoping they're able to release it on disc. I hate those download and burn it yourself deals, because it's always hit or miss with me. I've only successfully burned VMU Tool.

I can help you with download and burn as their is no way it would be legal to sell it on disk.

Also a little disappointing that it is a Ntsc/J GD even though the games American.

Sweet, thanks. Yeah, like I said, I made a working VMU Tool disc and the Pier Solar SEGA CD disc, but my attempts at making Propellor Arena failed. I've been using a PC and disc juggler.

How can you fail? It's 4 clicks. And that's counting running the program ._.

Although some discs are prone to fail burning of DC cdi's

This is a CDI file so everything will be done automatically.
All you need is a burned installed.

http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Propeller-A ... c964788344

Double Click the file once downloaded and it will talk you through.

Always burn at the slowest speed.

Also use SONY CD-R, i've always had good experience with Sony disks.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

@CrackD: I think it fails because I've attempted it on a mac via the disc utility. At my work, we have a PC that our Macs are virtually connected to. I've been successful on that before, so maybe I can make a working disc that way.

Oh, don't use a mac. It's troublesome for these images.

I prefer using cheap discs. Any burned disc is likely to become wared out eventually, so the cheaper the better. It also isn't as heartbreaking when for some reason it takes 5 discs to burn Marvel vs Capcom.

Yeah, I am a retard when it comes to stuff like this, but even I got it all to work.

Would be really excited to try this out, even if it does look like a poor mans Star Fox 64.

@ CrackDude: Well Piracy is a crime, and burning MVC is wrong.

I have a huge amount of DC burns. But I don't play them by myself.
I keep them for parties and such, when we just want to play some House of the Dead or freak out with Rez.
Basically I use them to showcase the DC to my friends.

I keep them until I buy them.

Consistent overuse of burned discs worsens the DC's reset problem. And longer load times.

I played a Crazy Taxi tournament last year at a gaming con, and the darn organizers used a burned disc. Halfway through my session, the scenery got all f-d up in a way that only a burned disc would behave. Made me nerd rage.

I've never experienced any problem with Burned games.

You need to know how to burn them, i've played my share of pirated games but I live in an area where Sega or any other Hardware manufacturer prior to PS3 did not supply. So I was dependent on them, what were there excuses or your excuse CD?

Barry your an American couldn't you call the Coppers?

THen I'd lose the tournament, and I needed that Wii cooling system!

Seriously, that was the grand prize. A fucking Wii cooling fan... for winning a DREAMCAST tournament. :P
