Going back to JSR, I could see how it can be disliked. Great music, great artstyle and visuals BUT it is slow. I booted up the game last September and I was amazed at how slow it feels, I could have sworn if was faster back in 2000. Considering they're on rocket skates, you'd think they'd go a bit faster. Garam and Pots are, I think, the fastest characters so I generally play as them. Combo? NO WAY!

However, I do love the gameplay and enjoyed the level design. It's funny, because JSRF addressed the speed issue by making the characters truly fast but junked up the gameplay. Sort of a trade off I guess. Fast skating, but no graffifi joystick moves or boss battles occurring during gameplay.

The Main reason I liked JSR more than JSR:F was because its slow, to be more precise, I liked tagging with the analog stick and found it fun/challenging.

JSRF took all that out and it became more simplified, I still love the game, but I like JSR more.

I thought it had better levels as well (Also, CAPTAIN ONISHIMA!)

Talking about JSR, I have a trauma with the remake/sequel or whatever that was.

 There is a stage where you grind over buildings... can't remember exactly; I hate higher places >_<
 When first time playing that stage, I was like: "WTF"!? It cant be true..."

 I think I'm too much sensitive on 3D games. I really can feel my stomach when jumping from high altitude places -__-

See, I thought the opposite. I thought JSRF slowed things down considerably. In JGR you could pump the trigger anytime you wanted to do a dash. In JSRF you lost this ability, instead you had a speed dash that you could trigger by using 10 Spray cans...which of course you use much less frequently due to its cost. So I dunno.

Yeah I pretty much agree there. For me though what was supposed to be a saving grace, the combat system, just didn't do anything for me. I found it to be a little too complex to get a handle on; too many buttons. But I realize this isn't an opinion most share.

Slow? I just played it a while back it feels like a normal pace to me. I also never had much trouble getting off rails really, though sometimes I would unintentionally land on them.

In JSRF you could pull off tricks in the air, on rails and stuff that would speed you up. Holding the trigger to speed up in the first game was kind of stupid because everyone would just hold it down all of the time anyways, and it was barely that much faster to begin with.

On the first game, I know you are on rollerblades, but sometimes it is just ridiculously hard to stop moving and sometimes you need a LOT of space to build up speed just to make a basic jump that you miss anyways and fall while doing a shitty "My face hit the wall so I will wave my arms while standing" falling animation.

I have a ton of other problems, but I know most people will skip over it.  8-) I will say I love the tagging in the first game. It is my favorite feature.

Also, Cube is hot and has the same crazy laugh the Cube from this forum probably has.

Now we must vote on which is the sexier Cube.

With regards to JSRF vs JSR, I couldn't really say either one is more dumbed down or simplified. While they removed the analogue movements in JSRF, it was because you needed to get to areas it was impossible to stand at. You would need to pull of specific jumps and grinds to get to an area to tag it, and you needed to do it on the fly.

I used to really dislike JSRF, but after playing it through again a few years back, I now like them both equally.

Pretty much how I feel, even though I have a slight preference for JGR I feel both are of relatively similar quality and think both are absolutely fantastic games.

I would say ToeJam and Earl. I could never really stand the aesthetic of it. There's just something about it I don't like.

i have to disagree here.
the levels in JSRF is far bigger and better designed.

one thing to say
you can maintain a successful jump in JSRF much much better and easier than in JSR. this is another big + for Future.

i can't say for sure which game i like more! both games means a lot to me.

I get that. The style is very much rooted in the early 90s, and the roguelike gameplay isn't for everyone.

I loved the tricksystem in JSRF. I remember you could get new  tags by accomplishing challenges in each environments mostly revolving around the trick system.

As Yu Suzuki, I liked the gravity system more in JSR, but overall JSRF was much better for me.
