I wouldn't hold my breath over it. We've had leaks in the past that didn't amount to anything.
As for the Olympic Games, they're subpar, really.

M+S Olympic Games series are fun for me.
Played them with my kids many times.
It's a party game, most won't like it if they don't treat it as one or just watching the game from youtube.

So Charles Martinet got a big promotion to personally represent and speak for Mario himself outside the games? Is it because of his long term as a voice actor for Mario?

Imagine if Jaleel White or Ryan Drummond stuck around as Sonic's voice. Maybe they would have become Sega Sonic Ambassador.

Yes. Personally represent and speak for a game character is really a big thing.
That's why sometimes when a game character's VA got replaced, the one got replaced sometimes couldn't take it well.
Bayonetta's VA and Super Monkey Ball announcer being the examples.

It is unfair on Bayonetta's part, but at the same time if she had respect for the role she could have still done it for peanuts. Sure it's still a job, and they need to get paid to eat, but if it's important to the fans it's worth it.

While she has the right to voice her concern about her relationship the company and most of it were wellspoken, she shouldn't have mislead fans about the original offer claims. One rotten apple could spoil the whole barrel.

As Anti-Mario as I am, I might get around to playing this given I'm always a fan of RPGs and only heard good things about this.

Plus, I'm curious if Toadstool's ??? can still be found in the game.

The battle for the right as the true protagonist.

I'm somehow the opposite. While I don't hate Mario (I do love Odyssey, SMB1, and Olympic series), I kinda dislike Super Mario RPG.
I found it boring compared to the classic Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest series.

I have a sort of love-hate with RPGs. I prefer classic RPGs, especially turn-based or ATB combat but I can understand how such gameplay can be boring or too vanilla for some.

At the same time, I don't like it when RPGs are overly-complicated and confusing. Like when FFX introduce the sphere grid and I just couldn't get my head around it. I rather have a basic RPG character growth system for skills and magic and just enjoy the story than get bogged down by anything too complicated.

Some newest RPG now let you choose how you wanted to play it.
Persona series for the example.

For those who just want to enjoy the stories, they could pick the safety mode.
Safety mode essentially ensured that anyone could enjoy the release without having to worry about getting a Game Over screen.
Characters would revive automatically if their health hit zero in combat, enemies were significantly weakened, and you'd collect experience points at a much, much faster rate.

In SEGA Mega Drive Mini 2, Phantasy Star II has this mode too.
Too bad it's in Japanese, no English version.

Those settings mostly effect the give or take of values such as damage or rewards. If an RPG uses a complicated growth-system or tangled skill tree I won't have a good time if I can only progress so far without having to figure out how to upgrade.
