Going back to Sonic Lost Worlds for the DLC
« on: March 27, 2014, 12:05:34 pm »
So there's like 1 NiGHTS and 2 nintendo themed DLC's now in the game.

And I know there's an official thread, but I felt like talking about this whole thing going on with sonic lost world, which I thought was a pretty satisfying experience at the time.

I just went through Legend of Zelda DLC stage, and just like the Yoshi one which came not so long ago, it's just a one act free stage you get. Nothing harmful I guess since its free.

The content isn't really that bad, but going back to the game I realized something, which I oddly enough was arguing against before. Maybe it was because I just wanted to like the game for it finally not being so much based around being a game of testing your reflexes, but the controls were really hard getting used to again after spending my time with the other WII U platformers that have come out lately like Tropical freeze and 3d world.

And a thought came into my head. Why does sonicteam have such a hard time making good controls when they are able to make such technically impressive games. Sonic lost world looks great and has little to no load times whatsoever, all running at 60 fps. Even the zelda dlc runs at 60fps which has a lot more showing within the field of view, more detailed textures. Pretty impressive. But the controls are so off it just makes the DLC a waste of being part of such a game.

Anyway. A lot of weird things been happening with the sonic franchise lately. What are your thoughts on the DLC and the whole nintendo thing?

The controls were one of my biggest issues with Sonic Lost World and I agree, I'm not sure why SonicTeam is having such a tough time getting them right.

Controls are a crucial element of a platformer. Somehow Sonic Adventure's 1 and 2 were able to feature a naturally-controlling Sonic, while many 3D Sonic games since (including Lost World) have felt overly slippery or tough to grasp.

First off, my eyes are in horror.......................

1. This Zelda sounds and looks ten times better then any other Zelda since OOT. What I do not like is how they have Link flying around on that Ho-Oh ( Pokemon ), thingy they had introduced for "Twilight". That is kinda like too much theater, where some moron, is like "look, look, their goes link, their goes Link, and his pokemon".  Basically a reminded of the flying chicken from Zelda LTTP, and the puzzle from OOT. Man that is a low-blow for this.

Next we will see is Ganon and his troops.

2. Yoshi story stage ( N64 ) had some logic to it.

3. Get players to keep on playing ( so they won't feel bored ) by offering to return with X amount of points.

This is how low, SEGA has to sink in order to get people to play this game. I mean wow, SEGA wow. When that KOEI Dynasty Warriors/Mystic Heroes Zelda comes out, I mean wow.

I remember this Sonic short, where Dr. Mario operated on Sonic, with a special implant, so he lost his Segavirginity.......... "Your one of us, now".

Ever since they went HD with new engines and codes they just dont seem to get it right. SA1 STILL GOT THE BEST 3D CONTROLS IMO
