Facebook thankfully has pre-approved function so we could always filter all rage bait posts.
Just posts though, not comments, unless the comments are from someone outside the group.
I'm not on Facebook at all, which is even more efficient way to avoid the drama.
Because if everybody's thinking "what's the point" and gave up, then doom is certain.
Someone has to care enough so that big techs could find the eco-friendly solution, otherwise they wouldn't even think about it.
It's not that they won't think about it, it's that they won't care when money is to be made. And that protest, petitions or even doing things the right way doesn't do much most of the time.

Hell, there was one episode of Captain Planet that actually had a bad ending for a kids show! The episode was "Whoo gives a hoot".

The villain Looten Plunder wanted to cut down an old growth forest for wood. The Planeteers try to stop him, especially given the forest was home to a rare species of owl. However the local police lady, while a good person, still encourages the Planeteers to go through the legal procedures and protests to save the forest. By the time they got through with the procedures, all that was left of the forest was stumps. Looten Plunder gloated in his victory and threatened to kill the owl if they bothered him about it.

Captain Planet is an environmental educational show. While Looten Plunder is characterised as a villain, he still represent corporate greed, and how willing the rich and powerful are to get more rich and powerful.

That said, towns across America have to put up with data centres popping up which is ruining their livelihood.
Yes, that's the concern right now, the unsettling implications of advanced AI capable of reverse engineering complex software.
Now people just use it for video games but later it might compromise critical infrastructure and global security systems.
The potential fragility of our digital world and the hidden risks beneath current technical progress is real.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F05vOheVRnI
I knew of that video, but didn't know if it was on YouTube or not. I was going to show it to you.
The reason is money. Making animation is not cheap (unless we are using AI) and Night of the Werehog was made from a portion of the budget of Sonic Unleashed's marketing.
I know, For something on par with a Sonic Mania Adventures episode, I understand such quality animation takes time, a few months at least. But it's not like Halloween (or Christmas) creeps up on us. I'm sure something of at least decent quality can be made in the span of a month, or even better if start some when September.

Such ideas for Halloween (or Christmas) content:
  • DLC for current game. If it was 2024 or 2025, Shadow Generations could've had Haunted Castle for a Halloween DLC. It would've been on-point for both a Shadow game as well as Halloween.
  • Sonic Racing: Crossworlds have "Festivals" which are usually themed after new racers. The Werehog should have a festival in October.
  • For Sonic Frontiers, the Holiday Cheer Suit is fine, but what about recycling the Birthday Bash DLC to be more festive? Or allow snow to fall and settle on Kronos, Rhea or Ouranos Island?
  • An animation, in quality with Sonic Mania Adventures episodes.
  • Digital Comic. Not as long as a standard IDW Sonic comic and usually for promotional use.
  • Just hire Balena Productions to make seasonal-themed Sonic videos. They don't have to be of the Scared Stupid or Christmas With Sonic continuity.
  • A Sonic & Friends Special.
I once tried to make my own Sonic Yule Log video, but I lost the footage I was working on.

Actually historical and modern evidence shows that protests, petitions, and "doing things the right way" can be highly effective against massive corporations. While large corporations possess immense wealth and political influence, they are not immune to public pressure.
When a protest successfully convinces millions of people to stop buying a product, corporations act quickly. In the 1990s, intense public protests and boycotts against Nike over sweatshop labor forced the company to completely overhaul its supply chain and institute strict labor standards. Another examples are LGBT, things that were taboo in the past but most western companies now embrace them.
Because corporations ultimately depend on consumers for revenue, shareholders for capital, and governments for their legal license to operate, organized public action can force them to change.

Of course it won't happen overnight, it took many years, but it's proven effective (especially if the target's corporation's most vulnerable asset: its reputation and brand value).

I think Sonic Team are already done with Frontiers and Shadow Generations, so if they're gonna add new things (aside from mobile games), it will be on CrossWorlds. But CrossWorlds events were never affected with holiday, Christmas, or easter so I doubt there would be Halloween theme too. Seasonal-themed Sonic videos are more likely though.

I once tried to make my own Sonic Yule Log video, but I lost the footage I was working on.

That's unfortunate. With the way AI right now, I think it's easier to make them now. but it means you'll get a lot competition from other fans too.

Just in time for spooky season! 🎃
It's new Halloween Sonic Adventure 2 Fan DLC for SEGA Dreamcast by Xiden and Dreampipe! 🎉

Quote
The DLC adds a custom pumpkin kart, built from the ground up as a new model, to race on a pumpkin-themed course. If Pumpkin Hill is one of your favorite SA2 stages, this one is for you. It's the stage Knuckles fans have loved for over two decades, and now Dreamcast owners can carve their own path through the pumpkin patch behind the wheel of a kart.

I really don't think Big Tech will give up on AI, even if it's risky or lots of anti-AI sentiments. But do you think green AI could be possible?
I think Sonic Team are already done with Frontiers and Shadow Generations, so if they're gonna add new things (aside from mobile games), it will be on CrossWorlds. But CrossWorlds events were never affected with holiday, Christmas, or easter so I doubt there would be Halloween theme too. Seasonal-themed Sonic videos are more likely though.
True. i do miss when Sonic Team had seasonal events for their games, but they haven't done that since the Dreamcast-era.
That's unfortunate. With the way AI right now, I think it's easier to make them now. but it means you'll get a lot competition from other fans too.
Well, as I said, I'd like to use AI for a tool of creativity than to just ask "Make a Sonic-themed Yule Log for me". I could probably try remaking it on SFM sometime.
