Mauro Xavier: "Commando is an incredible classic — no one can deny that — but I don't think developing a direct port for the Mega Drive would give me the satisfaction I'm looking for in creating it. With that in mind, I plan to create "Mega Commando," featuring the following:- Simultaneous 2-player mode;- New game modes and options (horde mode, free-roaming stages, space invasion, etc.);- Some graphical changes, without losing the original essence;- Music selection: original arcade, enhanced version, and C64-style versions (Rob Hubbard);- Sound effect selection: original arcade or enhanced- Additional visual effects; The project is in its very early stages, and I plan to work on it during my vacation in September, alongside some more significant updates to Final Fight MD.At the moment, what is already done:- About 80% of the graphics have been converted, including sprites and all 8 areas; however, I will now be making some graphical improvements, which may take some time;- Arcade music tracks have been 100% converted directly from the original ROMs, and sound effects have been fully captured via emulator and are working perfectly;- While the arcade sound effects originally utilized the YM2203 and SSG channels, I opted to capture them and use the console's DAC instead, allowing for more channels via the XGM1 driver. Other, more realistic sound effects will be created for a future "enhanced" option;- The initial screen featuring the helicopter's arrival is ready, and the player character moves correctly;- The collision layout for Area 1 is complete.Note: The only part where AI was used was in converting the music from the original arcade ROM, using a tool I created. There is no AI involvement in the images, backgrounds, visual effects, sound effects, programming, or any other aspects."
Luckaos:"Originally developed for the NES, Magic Carpet now gets a new version for the Sega Master System. This port offers a slightly more streamlined experience—adapted to the programmer's limitations—while retaining the adventure and action-packed essence of the original game. The Master System version features graphics adapted and ripped by WOFIRE, recreating the classic's atmosphere in a new 8-bit experience. The game's first full level is available now!"
Frogbull: "Panzer Dragoon is on Dreamcast! 🥳Version 0.1 of Dreamcast port is here, with the entire first level already playable on real hardware!"
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share this footage of 'The Curse of Issyos', a new homebrew project coming to the Mega Drive in 2026. The quality and the music are top-notch for our beloved console. What do you think about this new wave of 16-bit homebrews?

Cristiano Camacho 🗡️⚔ : "It looks like I can finally show this off: a Mega Drive port of D&D-Mystara that I’ve been working on for a while. The biggest issue is the amount of on-screen content—I don't want to compromise the visuals, but just what you see there already eats up almost all the VRAM."
Haroldo: "A native, fully playable cartridge port of Pico City Builder (originally by S-Grade Games) for the Sega 32X (Sega Mars).Developed using Chilly Willy's Sega devkit (32XDK) with GCC 12.1 cross-compilers."
