Shinobi - The Legendary Ninja-action Game Franchise

Debuting on the SEGA System 16 arcade hardware, Shinobi is a side scrolling action and platforming game featuring Joe Musashi as he uses ninja martial arts and weapons to attack enemies of the Zeed Organization while saving the children of the Oboro Clan.
In addition, you can use the killing Ninjutsu technique to wipe out the enemies in the screen and encounter bosses appears at the end of each mission with extraordinary battles such as a helicopter carrying a ninja army and a huge computer protected by a Buddha statue.
The series has expanded to include a dozen other Shinobi titles and Shinobi's code name has been used by various ninjas, such as Jiro Musashi, Joe Musashi, Hotsuma, Hibana, and Honoka.

For example, Takashi Yuda's signature spotted on the lower right of World of Illusion's final boss stage.

Here's a bonkers cheat code for SHINOBI LEGIONS…
• Go to Options
• Set Music to 2-3
• Set S.E. to 06
• Select Audio and put in a *40 button* code

Reward? A fully-featured debug mode with level select, free movement, and more.

I made a patch so you don't have to actually put in the button code:

When debug mode is active, pause and press R to call up the menu for level select and such.
L+R+Z is free movement with no collision; you can fly through walls and doors.
L+X performs special moves, which you can select from the menu.

FPGA developer Jotego has just released his long-awaited Sega System 18 core for Analogue Pocket and MiSTer.

Homebrew Dev Acquires 'Tengen' Brand

Now, in 2024, one sole developer by the name of Jeff Silvers has managed to acquire the Tengen name and has used this to create a brand new company called 'Tengen Games'.
According to the website, Silvers had conducted research in 2022 and discovered that nobody owned the Tengen name at the time, so simply began a lengthy process of officially registering it with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
