TheNomCognom: "SGDK some sketchy moments on the gg shinobi 2 port.
All are mockups with wrong pals but most of the "backend" is almost done.
So its time to draw ¬¬'
Only magic powers and yellow and pink abilities are not done yet.
The bosses have their own engine but still under construction."

Fan Port of Shinobi (Arcade) is Out Now for SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive

Note : There are three Shinobi Arcade port projects for SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive.
One is this and the other two are by Master Linkuei and  Tryphon

Oldschool is beautiful: "The 1987 Sega System 16 arcade Shinobi, brought to the Mega Drive / Genesis.

This is not a remake and not an emulator. The cartridge runs the original arcade 68000 program, kept at its original addresses. Only the parts that talk to the arcade hardware (video, sound, controls) were replaced with native Mega Drive code. The game logic is checked tick by tick against the arcade version over a full playthrough, ending included: enemies, timings, hit boxes and scoring behave as they do in the arcade.

v1.0 is the first full release of the Mega Drive / Genesis port of the arcade Shinobi. Since Beta 3, the work went into two things: the enemies' colours, reworked level by level, and the last glitches seen on real hardware. Many thanks to everyone who tested the betas on real consoles and sent reports."

ShinobiZ: "Alongside the faithful Shinobi experience, the Windows Edition includes additional content and optional enhancements.

One of the most important additions is the activation of two unused levels discovered within the original game data.
These stages existed inside Shinobi, but were never normally accessible during the arcade game. Bringing them back to life has been one of the most exciting parts of the project, because it allows players to explore material that had remained hidden for decades.

The game also includes a special Shadow Dancer Mode.
This mode is inspired by Shinobi's arcade successor and offers an alternative way to experience the game, bringing a little of the Shadow Dancer spirit into the world of Shinobi.
These additions are not intended to replace the original experience. They are there as extra content for players who already know Shinobi and want to discover something different.

So you can enjoy the classic arcade-style experience, then explore the hidden stages and additional modes afterwards."
