Sega Amusements International CEO : "Sega restructuring will not affect US/Europe"

The restructuring of the Sega group in Japan will not impact Sega Amusements International, says CEO Paul Williams.
The Japanese parent company is restructuring as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, but it will not affect the sales forces in the UK and US.
“We are continuing to develop new games, in association with our colleagues in Japan,” said Williams

As for release dates, it depends on the platform. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will release for Xbox Series X, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch on December 8th. A Playstation 5 version will arrive in Holiday 2020 and you’ll be able to get the game on Steam in early 2021.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 (Switch) Hands-on Preview

The biggest new addition is Skill Battles.
You pick a team of three and make use of MP to use special abilities that do things like clear junk tiles from your screen, up your defense, or heal your health.
These battles end when one team knocks out the HP of the other one.
You actually don’t die when your screen fills up, which is weird and against what I’ve learned in puzzle games.

Schizophrenic Difficulty in Columns Crown (GBA)

Flash Columns is a mode in Columns Crown (GBA) where player (Ruby/Jade) must clear preset jewels to reach and destroy one or more jewels with a white outline before progressing forward.
Flash Columns can range from hellishly difficult to ridiculously easy, just by going from a normal stage to a Challenging Stage.
For evidence, the very first Challenging Stage can be cleared without the player even pressing any buttons.

The “Skill Battle” is not the same as in Puyo Puyo Chronicle, but rather a reworked version of it.
Based on the current Tetris and Puyo Puyo game system regulations, we have been working on this game while simultaneously adjusting the balance between Puyo Puyo and Tetris.
After 35 years of Tetris and 29 years of Puyo Puyo, I feel that the game’s playing skills have improved a lot.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 Preview – Comfortable Iteration

Aesthetically, PPT2 is so far looking to be a more polished version of the original.
All of the animations have been redone, a few new styles of graphics are experimented with, and you’re less likely to see the same attack animations in-game as before.
There’s something almost universally charming about modern Puyo Puyo’s art style that I adore.
