Some leaked footage:

This is a pretty bad port. Move the video to 2:58. You can't even see the water when Sonic is up in the air.

I was sure it was the kid from phantom menace, I remember reading it Dreamcast Magazine ages ago. Guess I was wrong.
That would be a sweet myth, were not for the internets :)

as for the footage, is that final build? Some nasty draw distance issues there.. Very distracting, I sense a very mediocre reception.

I'm pretty sure Cory Bringas was the voice actor for Tails in SA1/2. He has nothing to do with Jake Lloyd.

Yeah, Jake Lloyd had nothing to do with the Sonic games. He was too busy with that OTHER pop culture phenomenon in 1999.

However, fun fact: The VA of Tails in AoStH, Christopher Evan Welch, narrated the 2008 Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. He sounds a lot like Dan Aykroyd, which is pretty funny.

Yeah, that is bad...

But other than that, it doesn't seem like too bad of a port.

Yeah other than the draw distance thing I was expecting a lot worse.

Still cannot get over the DX models... What a horrible, horrible idea it was to use those...

Bleh....I'm dissapointed that this could've been THE BEST version of SA to play. They could've added widescreen, better lighting effects, bloom, motion blur, something, ANYTHING to make it look a little nicer. Same goes for Crazy Taxi.

I honestly can't believe that the same team that did the cool graphical update for NiGHTS wont even bother doing the same for SA and Crazy Taxi.

That draw distance is terrible, I noticed it right from the start. The trees would just pop up. I take it it wasn't this bad on the Gamecube.

What is up with the ring loading screen?

Does Sega have no respect for there number one IP, it is quite pathetic really you have small developers like 3D-Realms that destroy themselves over their perceived concerns over quality and then you have super dev houses like Sega who throw out there best game like I don't even have an analogy for.

The game isn't due till september but unfortunately they've already moved on to work on the next games, can't we recreate enough of rockus to force them to fix this stuff. If you guys really care about it start a petiton start mailing fake gold rings to Sega's office in an effort to fix the game and add the next gen features they deserve?

It's just a loading screen. The least of your worries, yet you ramble about it for two paragraphs. The lack of widescreen and the apparent graphical issues are a lot more worrying.

I could not care less for the widescreen.
The original didn't have it. This is a port not a remake, I want everything exactly the same. And that goes for draw distance. That did not happened before, wtf.
Though the reduced draw distance might be for testing purposes only. Still I don't have much faith it will be addressed. Maybe they were concerned about framerate? Still, I prefer occasional slowdown to not seeing everything I should be able to see.

Then buy the original release. Some of us actually want them to improve on the game. A lot of the things that could use improvements would not be that hard to fix at all, especially if random fans can do this stuff themselves in weekends.

Why are you ignoring what other developers such as Capcom have done with there ports, Street Fighter 2, Bionic Commando, Mega Man X.

Adding a widescreen option would hardly make the game a "remake". The PC version can have widescreen support with a relatively simple hack. I see no reason for them not to add it, especially when they did add it to Crazy Taxi.
