I disagree that there are no 'hardcore' Pac-Man fans around. All of the games still sell, it is just that most people who really like Pac-Man are not really all that into games and just have it on their cell or something. Pac-Man Party is a good way to get the fans that grew up with the game to get something both them and their kids would like.

To be honest, I think this looks like one of the better Mario Party-like games around. I also like how they changed the designs of the ghosts to differentiate them, even if their results were mixed.

I agree with you.
Someone must notify Namco about that.
Maybe a 'Pac-Man Galaxy World ' or 'Pac-Man Colors' could be interesting :P
Or perhaps, they could try making a game that isn't a complete rip-off of another mascot's game.  :P

They tried that so many times, but it never worked out. You want another game like Pac-Man 2?!?

I would love another Pac-Man World game though. I am not sure why I never got around to the third one...

I think they can still make a good, solid platforming game that doesn't have to rip off Sonic or Mario Galaxy. They need to go for their own stylish angle, sort of like what Kirby is doing right now.

Don't bother with Pac Man World 3. It's not very good.

but it needs to be a 'big budget' game just like those ones. They need to invest capital in a new 'revolutionary pac-man game'.

The impression I had, seeing this 'pac-man party' video is that they're not giving pac-man the same as attention as other 'more important' namco titles.

They did a good job with that Klonoa port, maybe a new pac-man game could use the same engine/gameplay.

Namco is in no position to be making big budget releases of potential flops. The most money they make from the Pac-Man brand are arcade-like releases, like Championship Edition.

With the right marketing program/plan the game may have a successful gross profit.

See 'Mickey' for wii for example.
Mickey's 'Magical Mirror' was a flop in the Gamecube, although, the marketing campaign for 'Epic Mickey' makes it as one of the most antecipated games of the year!

Marketing costs money, too. Epic Mickey also has over 200 people working on it and Disney pushing it to the point they want two more sequels and a movie already. Magical Mirror was a flop because no one wanted it, and no one enjoyed it. It was also not even a platformer either.

Creating a solid and fun platformer for the Wii doesn't have to require a big budget. I think Namco could do Pac Man justice without needing to break the bank.

Also, the reason why Disney might throw more money at Epic Mickey is because they have an invested interest in the character beyond the realm of video games.

I'm sure Namco could come up with a very unique Pac-Man platformer if they tried.

Of course they could. Heck, anyone could if they put their mind into it. They're just taking the lazy way out for now. =P

More mini-games for the Wii, whoo hoo!

Yeah, this game has surely got to be better than that. Surely.

Having Pac-Man and Astaroth in a same game was kinda peculiar. ^-^

Indeed. It was a good idea to reunite namco chars. in one game.
Pac-man ghosts are not carismatic characthers IMO...
