SEGA New Project Announcement Live Stream set for June 3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3IgQLroY_k

Quote
Presenters include Hiroyuki Miyazaki, Yosuke Okunari, and host Misuzu Araki.
As pointed out by Twitter user Renka_schedule, the lineup of presenters is the same as the lineup from the Genesis / Mega Drive Mini live stream from September 2019, and M2, which ported the games playable on the mini console, retweeted the live stream announcement.

The Mega Drive Mini 2 will include over 50 games, including games for the aforementioned Mega CD, as well as sequels, arcade ports, unreleased titles and a mystery new game.
It has also been confirmed that players can select between the sound of the Mega Drive or Mega Drive 2 for every Mega Drive game (see the in-game menu options in the gallery below).

Got to wait the announcement for western version.
This Japan MD2 version was already sold out already on Amazon Japan and Amiami.
Yup, sold out as fast as Sonic's speed, and they haven't even announced the remaining 40 games' titles.

SEGA Mega Drive 2 MINI - 20 of the 50+ games are MEGA CD games

Quote
M2 asked that they narrow down the included number of MCD games to something more manageable;
Okunari asked "what do you think you can handle?" & they said "around 15 games",
and then he asked "what if you go all out?" & they said "20..." so he was immediately like "20 it is"
...so, it's confirmed that 20 of the 50+ games are MCD games—any more than that and they'd be at it for the rest of time
unlike, say, the PC Engine CD which is basically just a CD drive and not much else, the MCD has a second CPU & other extra hardware that have to be emulated

I bet SEGA themself are surprised on how well received their MD Mini. GG Micro, and Astro City Mini in Japan.
Japanese market was really different compared to international market.
For example, even though Sonic fans are few in Japan (compared to Sakura Wars, Phantasy Star Online, or Yakuza fans), most of them seem quite pleased with Sonic Frontiers trailer, saying they always wanted a change like this and it reminds them of Sonic Adventure (popular over there). They're kinda excited for the game.
