Greyfox Books, the publisher behind Atari: a Visual History and Coin-Op: The Arcade Guide, had originally planned to fund a similar book to its previous efforts via a Kickstarter campaign in 2021, but Sega's lawyers ended up taking exception to the project and sent them a C&D to stop production of it immediately. Rather than have all that work go to waste, however, Darren Doyle, the book's creator, has now decided to publish it on the Greyfox site as a free download, giving Sega fans access to the shelved release.

While the box is a step down from previous Retro-Bit offerings, like the wireless SEGA Saturn pad which came in a hard clamshell plastic case with a soft flocked plastic tray, it still is nicely presented. The Wired Console pad, meanwhile, is a slide out plastic tray which holds the controller and the wire is tucked behind. It’s nothing fancy, but it is the lowest priced pad of the three.A lot has been said ...
"This world is full of shit. The one who's only want to be protected, the one who doesn't know how to fight. From my point of view, they're all shit.I'm gonna make a world where everyone has a weapon and be able to fight for themselves."
Sorcerian was created by Yoshio Kiya, who is, alongside Tokihiro Naito and Yuji Horii, one of the forefathers of the Japanese RPG as a genre concept. He was a key pillar at early-era Falcom. We spoke with before, focusing on his Dragon Slayer series. We never actually covered Sorcerian, though, which is the fifth entry in the Dragon Slayer series."It wasn't Dragon Slayer V to start with," insists Kiya, when we interviewed him. "For other games up to that point Falcom would start making the game and it would get decided later on. But I didn't want anyone else to snatch up that title before we were able to use it, so I decided on it right from the beginning. I think it basically came from the word sorcerer; I decided that the name Sorcerian sounded like a good fit for this kind of game."
You may remember that a report from Bloomberg in April last year said that SEGA is investing in its extensive back catalogue of classic video games and are currently working on reboots for Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio. These two SEGA games will apparently be the first of the reboots and they are scheduled to release in the next few years. Fast forward to today and SEGA has sent out a new survey which is being distributed to specific fans and it mentions a number of older SEGA franchises which haven’t been touched in years and ...
While the NES controller is generally readily available to buy these days, the SNES, Mega Drive and Nintendo 64 controllers are frequently out of stock for lengthy periods, and when stock is replenished they tend to sell out quickly. In North America and Europe, the controller is the standard three-button design that was included with the console when it originally launched. In Japan, however, the Mega Drive Switch controller available there is the improved six-button controller that was released in 1993 to coincide with the release of Street Fighter II’: Special Champion Edition.
A new interview from Sega shed a bit more light on the concepts and characters that animate 404 Game RE:SET gameplay. The “Dark” side Cathode personalities emerged as a result of Sega’s actions, which is why Sega is portrayed as the antagonist faction of 404 Game RE:SET. The members of the cast are initially “Cathodized” by Sega, and use their powers to adversely affect the world around them. For example, Outrun Type: Cathode runs wild throughout the cities, taking joy in her speed heedless of the dangers she poses to innocents.
"Apologies for the delays after the last update. I hit a snag with fulfillment in Europe, but I've got that straightened out now. I wanted to make sure that the many backers in the EU would not have to pay any additional VAT or fees beyond what they've pledged, and it turns out this is far more complicated than I anticipated. I'm partnering with a fulfillment company based in the UK and the EU to handle things there.Printing was on hold until I got that sorted."
