Big stars like Jim Carrey, Idris Elba, and Keanu Reeves do contribute a lot to the movie success to non Sonic fans.
If Jim Carrey is gone, they're gonna need another big star to replace him.
Sonic characters alone aren't gonna do much to attract non Sonic fans to watch.
Yeah, but I'm not saying they should fire or give up Dr. Ivo "Jim Carrey" Robotnik entirely, just they can't really keep killing him and bringing him back every movie.
Have a brand-new villain for Sonic 4 and let Dr. Robotnik be brought back the very least the last half of the film. Make it a worth-while reveal than him vegging out in his crab.
Because while Team Sonic believed he was dead at the end of Sonic 2, we all knew he would come back by the third movie. Now he announced his sacrificed and it is truly implied he is dead. I'd say make the most of it with a build up while also giving a new villain a chance.
And no, I'm not accepting Dr. Robotnik from an alternate timeline or dimension, it's still the same thing and I don't want it as complicated as Dr. Julien Robotnik being replaced with RoboRobotnik V2 in the comics.
