‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ will be removed from Netflix on July 28th.

Netflix is about to lose a great family action-adventure movie, as "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" is scheduled to leave the streaming service in just a few days' time.
After Sonic's silver-screen debut defied everyone's expectations, racing to box office success and winning approval from fans, the video game adaptation's sequel arrived — fittingly, in rather speedy fashion — just two years later in 2022.
It was a bigger, wilder affair, and one that brought more of Sonic's pals to the big screen. If you and the family were planning to stream his second adventure on Netflix, you'd better do it soon, as "Sonic 2" is leaving Netflix on July 28. That means your last day to stream "Sonic 2" on Netflix is Sunday, July 27.

It would still be interesting if Neo Metal Sonic had a role similar to Emperor Metallix, given we have seen multiple Metal Sonic at Amy's mid-credit teaser.

That could work. I was already dissapointed about how they downgraded Metal Sonic into a mere henchman that could be mass produced. So if there is a story that those who showed up in the post credit are just disposable body army of replicas while the real Metal Sonic is somewhere leading them (be it's like a Neo Metal Sonic or like Emperor Metallix), then I'll take that.



Still I think it isn't as interesting villain compared to Shadow or Eggman (though I kinda like the twist in IDW Comic where Eggman's turned out to be Super Neo Metal Sonic in disguise).

Due to licensing agreements with Paramount.
Netflix doesn't own most of the content it streams, it licenses it from studios and production companies for a set period.
Paramount are the one who decided how long it aired on Netflix.
So I guess everybody who still wants to watch it digitally has to go to Paramount +.

According to a report from insider Daniel Richtman (known as DanielRPK online), Paramount Pictures is exploring the possibility of moving away from the sequential numbering system for its next film, currently known as Sonic the Hedgehog 4. I figured they would go somewhere of this direction for Sonic's fourth film. Though I imagine it will still carry the spirit of the first three films.
As for whenever it will end up "as good" as the prequels, well film series tend to teeter after the first three, so I'm not going to predict for or against it.
