I doubt Sega have sold that ammount. It's the same case of Virtua Fighter 4; they said that they have sold 1 million, the truth is that they have shipped 1 million and sold only half...

Whatever, I thought Bayonetta would be the biggest hit of this year in the world -_-

 Haters....

300,000 is sold in Japan and at least 160,000 was sold in America. So at the the very least the game has sold 460,000. Who knows how much it sold in Europe but since SEGA makes their money on retailers and not consumers, they've already managed to get a large amount of money from the title either way.

My prediction was
300K Japan
200k America
200k Europe

Looks like it may do those numbers after all, I'm sure it will reach 200k in America life time sales.

I'm pretty sure there will be strong demand for Bayonetta at discounted price points, for what it's worth..

thanks for getting the discussion back on topic.   8-)

Okay, so Sega must associate blood type O as warrior blood.

1968 is still a mystery..

MLK and RFK were killed that year, maybe those were formative events in Yu Suzuki's life?  Just kidding.  :P  1968 might just have some significance for somebody or the company?

Ryo, Kazuma, and Akira are all the same guy, but in parallel universes!

Not only the same blood type and same birth year, but all have their hair spiked up. Both Ryo and Kazuma have animals on their back. (Ryo has a tiger on his jacket, and Kazuma has a dragon tattoo.)

Shenmue started out as a Virtua Fighter RPG, with Akira instead of Ryo.

Ryo's father was murdered. Kazuma's parents were murdered.

Spaking of which, Ryo's dad's Japanese voice is played by Segata Sanshiro. Which basically means that Ryo is Segata Sanshiro's son(!) in an alternate universe. It explains why Ryo is such a good fighter, and why Ryo has a Saturn in his living room! (Segata is possibly Akira's grandfather in the Virtua Fighter universe)

So basically Ryo = Kazuma = Akira. And Segata is like the precursor or something.

I'm not into the Yakuza series, so maybe you guys could find better similarities!

wow.

So you're saying Segata is basically Big Boss and these are all his clone son's?  It only makes sense... who is the mother then?

Quote
Type O
Best traits :   Agreeable, sociable, optimistic
Worst traits :   Vain, rude

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type ... se_culture

Here's the others out of interest

Quote
Type A
Best traits    Earnest, creative, sensible
Worst traits    Fastidious, overearnest

Type B
Best traits    Wild, active, doer
Worst traits    Selfish, irresponsible

Type AB
Best traits    Cool, controlled, rational
Worst traits    Critical, indecisive

I should also note that blood type O is the most common.

Another thing interesting about the 3 characters
Ryo Hazuki
Kazuma Kiryu
Akira Yuki

Their second names,
Hazuki
Yuki

and Kiryu also has the same letters y,u,k,i in a different order.

Maybe I'm looking to far into it... but they are similar.
