Saw Memento for the first time.

The only thing going through my mind the whole time was how much the actor looked like Billy Idol/Brad Pitt and would have made a perfect John Constantine (avatar).

One of my favourite movies of all time.

If you liked it, Christopher Nolan's first feature "Following" is pretty solid too. It's pretty low budget, and black/white, but it's still good.

GREAT MOVIE. I love these action films. They just don't make them this good anymore..

OH REALLY?

How about Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lungdren, Mickey Rourke, and appearances by Bruce Willis and Arnie?

I saw Kick Ass

and From Paris With Love.

Kick Ass was defiantly a better movie. I never read the comic, might have to look into it. Had some odd moments that made you think "wait, is this right?!" but a good film.

I prefer the comics, although I seem to be in a minority.

because they were released simultaneously almost, the comics end up a little different

I don't really keep up with Marvel Comics, I have not read Kick-Ass before. I might stop buy the comic shop and pick them up though.

Most of the characters and plot felt a bit... flat? I don't know how to explain it. I heard that the characters are more boring on the comic.

Kick Ass is not technically from Marvel. It belongs to an imprint from that company that specializes in adult comics, like in the same way Vertigo belongs to DC Comics, but they are treated as seperate entities.

Moving on, I watched Iron Man 2 last night with a buddy and here's a chock full of spoilers...

No... Not really, what's there to spoil if you've seen the trailer, you've pretty much seen the entire movie.

While the movie does ocassionaly have moments of pure awesome, the action scenes are very good, Robert Downey Jr. is great as always, the new Cody Rhodes is just sorta there, Black Widow kinda steals the show(you'll know what I mean when you see it), some of the jokes are great.

But even with that in mind, Iron Man 2 feels sorta underwhelming.

No offense to Mickey Rourke but as the main antagonist he was sorta just there, the script doesn't give him enough screen time to make him that big of a threat.

Which was kinda the flaw of the original movie, but in the sequel it's that more obvious.

Whiplash builds up some sense of foreboding conflict, but then he just vanishes into thin air for a good 30 minutes, so again we have to focus on Tony Stark's ego problems, not that there's anything wrong with that, since the audience connects with Stark's problems.

Not a bad movie, just not as good or as memorable as the original.

I have to disagree with max on this one, I enjoyed Iron Man 2 as much as the first one, and found it really good. They hint at his alcoholism and what I really liked the was the increased sense that theres a lot more superheroes running around out there than just Iron Man. I won't say too much but theres a lot more references and hints at 'others' around the world and USA.

The character of Justin Hammer was good and makes for a good rival to Stark, but I really liked every character in the movie.

I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan. Did you see Fantastic Mr. Fox yet?

I just got back from watching The Losers.  I never really read the comics, and didn't have the highest expectations for it.  That said, it was a really fun movie.  You pretty much know exactly what you're getting from watching the trailer.  Some big explosions, some humour, some more explosions.....  Going in just expecting that, it doesn't disappoint at all.  It's not the best movie ever, but it's very enjoyable.

Yeah I saw Fantastic Mr.Fox in the cinema and loved it, I haven't seen that many Wes Anderson films, just that and the Life Aquatic but I really enjoyed both of them (Life Aquatic gets better with each watch).

If I enjoy this as much as I loved the other two then I'll rush out and pick up the Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore.

That's the thing with pretty much all of his movies. They just get better after each repeated viewing.  I though Rushmore was pretty good the first time I watched it, but it's hands down one of my all time favourite movies now.
