From your list, I'd go with Sonic and Miku, then mobile.

But honestly for their new school games, I'm more a fan of their one-offs. Stuff like Binary Domain, Alpha protocol, the Club, Bayonetta and Vanquish.

Sega is great at introducing new IPs only to be ignored at launch, then touted as hidden gems months down the road.

Also, you probably should add Persona to the list of active franchises. Atm, they as much Sega as Sonic is, and the series is still being released in the west.

BAYONETTA isn't a one off. And Atlus is a subsidiary of Sega, they still publish their own games unlike Relic and Creative Assembly. Atlus hasn't started to create content for Sega directly yet... So they 're not technically Sega or segafranchises...unless sega takes over the publishing duties overall...

Virtua Fighter.

I would say Total War, but Rome 2 looks like an abomination of the series.

Company of Heroes is quite fun, especially since the Western Front Armies expansion. The game is in need of a shake up soon though, apparently a big patch coming soon. The game has devolved and become quite stale with few strategies being viable at the moment in multiplayer.

I would say Yakuza but Sega will never translate anything ever again because the CEO had to sell three of his kidneys to pay for Yakuza Dead Souls to be translated because they wanted the cowadoody audience but it sold two copies (one to me, and one to Aki-at).

I guess Bayonetta, even though Sega would rather not touch the series again. They did fund the first game which is phenomenal at least.

I would say Jack Lumber, but it would be a lie.

I dont know if you had play it but as far as i know ROME2 is in a much better state that when it came out, and not only that, is also much bigger with new free content and pay content. If you havent buy it yet i recommend you to do it because in a week they will release a very big expansion pack and for the owners it will be for free. Here is some information:

http://forums.totalwar.com/showthread.php/136179-Imperator-Augustus-Faction-Map-Reveal?s=77d1d11e91d88754c7cc2a9103c8e654

Gotta start with Bayonetta. It was the announcement of Bayonetta 2 on Wii U made me one. A fantastic franchise.

Sonic is a staple of all Sega fans, and Colours and Generations were both fantastic games.

Of the franchises that Sega brought in when they purchased the developers, Football Manager is top of the list. I've been playing it since it was Championship Manager. There is a reason noone else releases a football manager game. FM will crush you.

I was going to try and break the quote down, but it never works and I get all sorts of funny /size] things everywhere. I'll try to address though!

RE: Rome II - Every time I check various forums there is someone asked 'Is this game worth buying yet' and almost always the answer is 'no'. I read about why and it's issues with AI and combat, which is basically 90% of the game. I'll have a look again closer to the expansion, but it sounds like the game is inherently flawed and it's going to take a major overhaul to fix it. Things like the battle mechanics just sound completely wrong (infantry just blobbing up instead of formations for example) and notoriously bad AI on the map and in-game (or weird happenings like Carthage getting conquered by barbarians immediately).

Also this sounds more like a GOTY edition re-release than a proper expansion in the vein of Barbarian Invasion or Fall of the Samurai. I'll keep my eyes out though, I might pick it up on sale, cheers!

RE: CoH2 - I know about the Ardennes expansion, but that's single-player only. I have zero interest in single player for this game. There should be a patch coming before that for multiplayer though since there are numerous gameplay issues plaguing the game at the moment. Company of Call-Ins, the Red Army being made up entirely of Snipers and Guards troops, The Wermacht fielding no armour except Tiger Tanks. The Flak Halftrack exploding whenever someone sneezes in it's direction etc etc. It's a good game, but I'm taking a break for a while since it's gotten a bit stale.

RE: Jack Lumber - It's not common knowledge, but funds for translating Yakuza 5 and making Shenmue III were re-diverted into Jack Lumber and porting it to Steam. Development of a next-gen Jack Lumber trilogy was in the wings but cancelled before they could show it off to the public. The resulting financial crisis meant that Sega had to cancel their sequel to Skies of Arcadia and the new 'Untitled Yu Suzuki project'. I can't reveal my sources though. But yes, that's why I have issue with Jack Lumber.

I would disagree with Sonic. I think you'll find most members here are not fans of Sonic games after Mega Drive or Dreamcast at the latest. At the same time, Sonic 1-Knuckles are still some of my favourite games of all time and defined gaming for me growing up.

As far as 'current' Sonic though? Haven't enjoyed a Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2. Actually I had some fun with Secret Rings in a 'this is kind of new and interesting' way, but otherwise I haven't been a fan at all.

Sega will be publishing Persona Area Ultimax in EU and AUS. So by your definition this should qualify the series as a sega series. The IP is owned by Sega (regardless if it's via a subsidiary) and an entry in the series will be published by Sega.

We really should start to consider all Atlus IPs and future Atlus content as Sega now. Whether they operate independently or not, 100% owned by Sega should mean it's Sega.

Also, as it stands there is only one Bayonetta game published by Sega in the market, so I'd consider it a one-off and we all know that series was gonna die as a one-off if Platinum didn't shop it around to another publisher.

ROME2: every time somebody tell you than "X" game is not worth it you shouldnt trust that person very much because we all have a personal opinion about when a game is worth it or not.
About the rest i had read in those forums that for some people the game is in great state now and i have watch some videos and it seems very fine. But if you have confidence in your argument then be happy.

CHO2:OK

Jack lumber: I have nooooooooooooooooooooooo idea what you are talking about XD.

Well if there is no demo or other way to play the game before buying it, I can really only go off of opinions of other players sadly. When I look at Rome 2 feedback I also look to what matters to me and what I liked from older games and wanted from newer ones. It sounds like I wouldn't be happy with it last time I checked (might have been more patches since) but also that it's an inherent problem with the game that won't be patched out but rather will take a big overhaul or expansion to fix. I will check again when the Emperor Edition or whatever it is comes out, if it's a good price I might try it out.

I might be interested in the Project Diva series but I haven't bought one yet. Otherwise, nothing.

To be expand the net:

Valkyria Chronicles
Shinobi

I would say Skies of Arcadia, but that was basically single-entry.
Proud recipient of the second ever Gary Player Award!
I support Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia HD ports!

The company is owned by Sega..the IP is owned by Atlus. Big difference. And i said overall...meaning Sega is only publishing it in one market not in all markets. So no it doesn't count.
I won't count it until i see the Sega logo on start up and the Sega logo being on the package.
And Sega shopped the game around not Platinum. Without Sega there would be no BAY 2. That's a fact accept it.
