Thats a true statement, you can't just pretend a game like Ecco the Dolphin will defy logic and sell millions of copies. That just isn't correct at all. You need more validation than 'I liked the game so It makes millions".

Come on George, Barry, you can't deny that doesn't come off as abrasive.

I mean, I like the article, but either purposely or accidentally that comes off as kinda insulting.

I dunno I think  SEGA Japan do still work on quite a few of their classics over a 5 year period... Maybe not all the ones we want but quite a good number. Puyo Puyo, Phantasy Star, Sonic, Shining Force, Virtua Fighter, Super Monkey Ball, Yakuza amongst others... If you count remakes/remasters then actually loads... though im sure you don't.

It's also 100% an opinion.  Pro tip: you don't usually start a factual statement with "personally."

Your actual statement, if I paraphrase was "I think it's stupid/silly people think these old Ips will at all help the company."

That was the statements being passed around online, that if SEGA had some old IP again that didn't sell back in the day, now, there would be a E3 booth this year which makes no sense.

I never said old IPs wouldn't work, I said 'you liking a game' isn't a valid reason to even think a franchise would be successful and its not a valid reason. So now you are changing the actual definition into something to fit your narrative.

If the only reason you think something would be successful because you liked it, isn't it a fairly silly position to hold?

No.

Im not going to keep pestering you about this but please REREAD YOUR STATEMENT.  Here, I'll help.  I'll bold the opinions for you.

"Personally I’m a bit dumbfounded that fans really think that games they ‘liked’ will turn a company around, especially when some of those talked about IPs stopped being supported forever ago. Oh, because you liked the franchise? That makes sense. Great business move."

Also, there are smart ways to revitalize an IP without breaking the bank.  Don't make a AAA next gen title, make a smaller project in installments ala Resident Evil Revelations.  Who are you to say that reinvesting in strong brands won't help the company in the long run?  Please point me towards your fortune telling ball because that's an opinion, my friend.  Not a fact.

gain your going into stuff that has nothing to do with the fucking article. I never stated old IPs would never be successful, just that 'I like the game' isn't a  valid reason to bring an IP back. I was talking about facts, and 'I like a game' has nothing to do with business tactics.

Can they bring back an old IP? Sure, they can. Does that have anything to do with the E3 booth? No.

Case closed.

and I already explained it to you but it doesn't seem to get through your head. So why should I bother again? How is 'I like a game' a valid reason the new entry would be successful? How much more simpler can I explain this to you without drawing a picture?

I'm done with this, enjoy your day sir.  I hope you will one day read your article and realize it's laced with opinions and slants like no tomorrow.

Alright man, maybe next time you'll understand to read something for what it is and not making up long stories about stuff I never said.

I jut remembered a while ago AM2 Manager Makoto Osaki saying unannounced PS4 titles are in development (after Yakuza Zero was announced).

Yep, he said it during a Japanese Playstation 4 event, but I dunno if it was specifically about AM2 having unannounced games for Playstation 4 or if SEGA Japan as a developer has Playstation 4 titles unannounced or if he is counting SEGA as a whole (aka Creative Assembly already teased a title).

Do I think Sega bringing back classics in this era will work? Maybe.

I think it really depends on whether or not they can develop the games right. If they put in as much effort as they do with sonic games, then no.
