Wrestlemania 27 was the first wrestling PPV I'd seen since Wrestlemania 18.
The whole thing was a bit of a let-down for me. Having the World Heavyweight title as the first match of the night seemed pretty odd. Especially when a match with Snooki was the second match last of the night.
I'd never seen The Miz or John Cena wrestle before, and for a main event, it was a bit depressing. Hulk Hogan probably had way less wrestling ability than these guys, but he could put on a good show. (and ring-out call...in a main event at Wrestlemania???)
The Rey Mysterio match kinda bummed me out, because I was expecting more of a high-flying match. The US title match wasn't even shown.
On the plus side, I was really impressed with the CM Punk and Randy Orton match (again, I'd never seen either of them wrestle before).
Undertaker vs. HHH was the main reason I checked out the PPV, and I wasn't disappointed. Great match from the two of them. They do a great job of making it look like Undertaker's going to lose every year. The end of the match was a bit anti-climactic. I don't have any problem with a match ending via submission. I'm sure that that move the Undertaker did would hurt like hell, it's just that it doesn't have a lot of showmanship to it. Sharpshooter, Figure-Four, Crippler Crossface, Ankle Lock, all great finishers. You immediately know what they're hurting, and you can see the face of the unfortunate soul stuck in it. That way they can really sell it, and bring some drama to the whole thing.
