That is a real good lesson to learn.

A politics thread could be interesting.

Speaking of which: today's the big day here in Canada. I'll be out there volunteering for a good 13 hours. Right now it's looking like another minority government for the Conservative party, but the everyone will know for sure tonight when the results roll in.

Also:
It's pretty tough to find clothes that don't line up with the colours of one of the parties involved in the election. It's kind of a thing here where you're not supposed to wear the colours of one of the parties if you're going to be volunteering at a polling station. The idea is that you might sway the vote if an undecided voter comes in. So I've got to stay away from red, blue, green and orange.
No orange chucks today :(.

Ahh shit man, heard the news, not the outcome I wanted.

@Snowcat

It depends. Sometimes when you're feeling a bit blue, you can cheer yourself up with an item, but don't spend too much or you'll have buyer's remorse.

I limit my personal spending weekly, that's how I (usually) stay out of the red. I usually spend 150-200 a week, not including groceries. A third of that 150-200 are essentials (toothpaste, cat litter, potting soil, any random stuff we need from Target that we ran out of). Other third is dining out. Usually spend $50 a week on going out for dinner/lunch. Final third goes towards things I want, like games, new movies, movie tickets, ebay buys, etc. Usually I spend $25-50 a week on unnecessary stuff.

Last week, for example, I spent $55 on Famitsu, HOTD Overkill and a Dreamcast game. This week I'm hitting a video game convention, limiting myself to $60. Week after that is Virtua Tennis 4, so I plan on not getting anything else.

It's not the best news for sure.
On the upside, it'll hopefully only last 4 years, and the NDP have ousted the Bloc.

Sócrates (the portuguese PM, not the ancient greek philosopher) is an asshole. Sorry, just needed to get that out of my chest.

Sweet!

Yeah! I'm pumped! I got $100 set aside to spend, thinking I'll get a lot of Dreamcast and Saturn titles. Hoping to catch the AVGN screening and panel. Maybe get him to sign my copy of SEGA CD's Double Switch.  :lol:

First still from the upcoming Pixar short "La Luna"

Plot:
"La Luna" is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family's most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions?

Its the story of Georgie, young Mexican boy who was brought to America by the river by his Grandpa and Dad.
