Folks on Sonic Stadium are already whining about lack of Wii version.

Seriously, what the fuck. (A)Sonic Colors released last November, great game and an exclusive, (B)A 360 is so freakin affordable, (C)What the fuck is wrong with people, who owns a Wii but no HD console?, (D)People honestly expected Sonic Team to simultaneously develop Colors AND a Wii version of Sonic Anniversary AND an HD version?

i am really really curious about the gameplay system.
i think they will go with different mechanics for each SONIC.
classic sonic with classic gameplay style and moves like spin-dash.
modern sonic with Unleashed style and abilities like homing attack.
this is brilliant!

That could be the case, Suzuki. My guess is, around 10 classic stages remixed in 3D with the ability to play as either Classic or Modern Sonic. I'd also love to see Knuckles and Tails. And both Eggmen teaming up, that would make for some great cutscenes.

I would be disappointed if that was the case, I want some consistency in the gameplay.

*Must...get...a...PS3*

Well, this is perfect timing for me, my brother is planning to buy an HDTV later this year (we only have SDTVs here at my home ._.), having an HDTV without a Blu-Ray player would be a waste (especially because I can count with my fingers the number of HD TV channels we have here), so, instead of getting just a Blu-Ray player, I'll buy a PS3. :>

Smart move. Yeah, I'm stoked. This is the first time since Sonic Heroes that I've owned the console that a main series Sonic game has been announced for. Didn't have a Wii when Colors hit, didn't have a 360 when '06 and Unleashed hit.

Well I'm super fucking excited by this.  I already own a ps3 but I might get a 360 just to play the version of this that runs best.

Haha man, I had been whining like a bitch for almost a year about that model. I gave it all up finally and there he is...

What a moment.

This is such a beautiful gesture from SEGA. All the fans that had been telling me that it's never gonna happen can go suck it right now. Hard!

I made this for the fun of it:

I think the game is going to be a lot of fun! Lighthearted tone, lots of retro nods, possibly an interesting (though not deathly serious) story. SOme of my personal wishes are:

-3D Angel Island
-Knuckles and Tails playable
-Remixed music
-Online 2 player mode (a la Sonic Simulator in Colors)
-Summer release date

Don't think it'll be released in the Summer, somewhere around September and December is more likely.
Hopefully they don't rush it like 06...heh...I think they've learned their lesson. :P
It's not like 06 would have been much better even if it was not rushed anyway. xD

I'd assume this was in the works since '08, so they should have had more than enough time. I think September makes sense and is realistic, but summer would be better :)

That or Sonic 4 in summer, Anniversary in winter.

It just bugged me last year that Sonic 4, Colors and Free Riders all released within 2 months.
