Well it is a fan made video presumably representing the current state of Sonic, and they want us to help him by buying his games.

Given this is a few years old it is from the era where Sonic was truly at rock bottom.

We should help Sonic by not buying his games, we can't be enablers.

That's why I didn't buy Sonic Colours or Sonic 4!

Frankly if you didn't buy Sonic Colours your totally part of the problem, as far as '3D' or 'Modern' Sonic goes, Sonic Colours is the shit.

Amazing music, absolutely fantastic locations/levels, power ups that add to the gameplay instead of break up the fun, not to mention beautiful graphics. Even the story was quite good, saturday morning TV affair but for a Sonic game it wasn't trying to be overkill persudo-mature, time traveling love triangle Dr Who shit.

More like shit.

I played Colors, better then unleashed but still not on par with the Dreamcast games.

Sonic 06 did not have time travelling love triangle!
It had time travel and a more mature relationship, love (romance, dating whatever the hell you want to call it) has been in the series since Sonic CD with the inclusion of Amy Rose, Elise was a much better alternative.

I didn't hear anyone crying when Shadow had Maria, but all of a sudden if Sonic talks to a girl it is blasphemy (that said the kiss was a little unnecessary).

It's barely 3d.

Cube is just mad it didn't include Big fishing. An outstanding feature from the original Sonic Adventure game he can't wait to experience again.

Yes, Colors is barely 3D. But it does have 3D sections. >.>

Cube doesn't like it, that's basically the golden seal of approval for anyone sane.

Dude, 3D means far to many things right now...
-Theres the 3D, which I mean for Sonic Colours, it's 3 Dimentional...
-Theres what Tripple thought I ment, (you run on a 3D plain)
-Theres Nintendos (bullshit) sterioscopic 3D,
-Theres real '3D' which needs glasses.

It's getting confusing!

I'm trying to change how I use the terms 2D, 3D and 2.5D. For me, 2D now means:
-2D sprite based games
-3D objects moving on a 2D place (clockwork knight, Sonic 4)

2.5D means:
-3D objects moving on a 2D plane but the object can affect and be effected by objects outside the plane (Klonoa, NiGHTS)

3D means:
-3D objects that can move about in 3D space.

So from all that, Sonic Generations does not have 2.5D in the way I think of it. Nor does Sonic 4 or the 2D stages from Colors.

I wouldn't say the game is shit, but I wouldn't say it's particularly good either. I did play it and wanted to like it but stopped having much fun with it about 2 worlds in. Frankly I couldn't understand why it got so much love.

Maybe I'll give it another shot someday.

And yeah, the story/script was quite strong.

I think colors is great but that a mistake was made in terms of level pacing.  Starlight Carnival is without a doubt the worst level in the game and players are forced to play it before getting to Planet Wisp, Aquarium Park, and Asteroid Coaster, which are by far the best levels Colors has to offer.  The result is that the less patient players (or hey, those who wanted to dislike the game in the first place) won't ever get past Carnival.  Which is a shame, because even with this level it's one of the best Sonic games in a decade.

Tl dr; haters gonna hate.

I thought Sweet Mountain was the worst Level in the game, the complaint of having Levels that you play on looking like being made by a Level Editor is the most evident there.
Act 4 sucks, simple.

But as a whole I found none of the stages to be that much worse or better than each other.
