Our country prohibited gambling,
may be that's why we don't use real pennies.
The modern version of coin pusher machine is more different now.
Many arcade centers now didn't use coin again to play.
They use this swipe cards reader instead,
where we deposit money first and it's being subtracted every time we play.



That's why when the coins dropped from coin pusher machine,
we won't received coins but tickets instead.
Somehow they could detect how many coins dropped.
The tickets collected could be traded for some goodies such as toys and plushes.

I suppose that makes it slightly more fairer, but still  a bit wasteful of tokens.

The drawback in games like these are when we have to jump repeatedly from platform to platform.
Sometimes kinda hard to see the edges of some platforms  if we had to do it quickly.

I've played  abit of Landstalker. D-pad controls are a bit confusing with isometric. Maybe I should stop using my PlaySega pad to play these Mega Drive games with.

Still better with Dpad than keyboard control. 

That's true. Though most games are better with controllers.
(Except FPS where mouse is better for looking around, obviously.)

My PC games in the MS DOS era all were played with keyboard.
That's including Golden Axe, Alien Syndrome, Space Harrier, and Shinobi.
My old IBM PC XT couldn't find any gamepad that it could support.

Really? It had no DE-9 connector to stick a controller in?

None had worked, at least ones that sold in my local store.
They were all botleg joysticks though, the official gamepads were too expensive so the store didn't have interest to import them.

At the time my country was still catching up to other countries.
Having a computer was still considered as luxury.
My dad managed to have one because it's related to his work job.
The DE-9 connector was there, but the peripherals and accessories that using it were rare to be found.
I was so used using up button on keyboard for jumping in platform games so it's kinda take a time to adapt when later platform games have dedicated jumping button.

I always wanted to experim,ent more with DE-9 controllers, see their limits and so on. They seem to be universal. Like the idea of putting a Mega Drive controller into a Master System.
