The 'take an educated stab at TGS line up' thread.
« on: April 01, 2010, 10:58:09 pm »
Yeah I know I know, TGS is miles off... But I just felt like having a general chat about something Sega related with you fine gentlemen.

So (based as much in reality as possible i.e rumours, hints and announced games.) what do you think/hope will be shown at TGS this year. You can have 1 wild card where the game is just one you really WANT as apposed too, what is likely.

When TGS rolls around we'll bring up this thread and see who guessed closest!
Here is my guess!

Possibly at TGS:
-Vanqish
-Project K/Yakuza
-Project Diva 2
-New 3D Sonic
-New Phantasy Star Online
-Valkyria Chronicles 3 (PS3)
-Rumoured Shinobi (unlikely but pah-leez!)

Wild Card:
-Skies of Arcadia on the Canvas engine! (so want!!!)

-the Rumoured Shinobi game by Platinum games
-Nagoshi's unknown title

-Phantasy star Portable 3

-Border Break
-Let's Play ( for Natal )
-The House of the Dead 4 (PSN - Play Station Move )
-one or two games for the new 3DS system .

Too early for me to say anything apart from the obvious ones like Vanquish and Project K.

For some more wild guess/hopeful ideas I would say a new Shinobi using the Bayonetta Engine (not necessarily the same gameplay though), Jet Set Radio for XBLA/PSN, and probably a console version of Final Showdown with some funky features (Better not have create a character though)

Probably:
The only thing I WANT that I'm confident about would be the next PSO they've hinted at.

Why the fuck not?:

Super Hang-On 2. Outrun 2 was a hit. Let's continue with the trend onto my favorite game. Or call it Hang-On 3. Or Ultimate Hang-On. Or Super-Fuck-Me-Up-The-Ass-On I DON'T FUCKING CARE.

Wild card:
For years I've thought it was a bad idea, but I've come to realize the demand and hype is big enough over the stupid thing that more people want it than ever, so why not now?

Shenmue III

SHO2 at TGS. I want the other 2 at E3.

Good AM2 game exclusive to arcades
Yakuza Moon: Kazuma settles down on a ranch and milks some cows

TGS is so far off, we are really just taking a blind stab here.

-Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown
-Vanquish
-Yakuza K (I think it will be a PSP title)
-New Sonic Wii game
-Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II or III
-Phantasy Star HD
-Phantasy Star Portable 3
-Valkyria Chronicles 3
-New "Pride of J" title, probably for PSP
-Super Monkey Ball for Natal and Move
-Another Natal or Move game
-End of Eternity 2
-Port of an arcade game to XBLA
-At least seven DS RPGs.

lol i don't think so
SEGA already said that they are not happy with their RPG games performance on the system , you can see this clearly through the lack of these games in the last TGS . maybe one or two at most ...

and i don't know why everybody think that Project K is for PSP !
this is not like Nagoshi at all , he likes to create games on HD Consoles , and now we are talking about a new beginning for the series , it make no sense to be on PSP !

also the new sonic game will not going to be exclusive for the Wii ! most likely it will be built around the Hedgehog Engine technology and it will be ported to the Wii .. the same thing they did with Unleashed .
maybe a spin-off in addition like secret rings or black knight but i highly doubt it , Sonic Teams now merged into one team (CS2) and i think they will focus on one project for Sonic from now on ...

The trailer for the new Yakuza game looked like a PSP game to me. Just by the way the graphics were.

Well peeeeeeeeeeenis. I suppose with that then it probably will be another PS3 game. Hopefully it is not another rehash or something terrible like the Samurai one.

I was joking with the DS RPGs, it is a running gag with a lot of us on the forums.

For Yakuza, he never gave a project name to any of his games since the first Yakuza, five releases ago. Not even Kenzan had a codename. Unless it is a completely new genre, I have no idea why he would try and hype people up for a new direction if it was on the same console. Another thing is, if SEGA wants a Yakuza game on the PSP, it does not matter what Nagoshi would prefer, it is SEGA's IP. The platform has been very good to them in that region, which is also the only region Yakuza does exceptionally well. It also sounds like it will be a spinoff, so I do not know what is so hard to believe.

For the Sonic game on Wii, I am certain we will not be seeing the next major Sonic game until Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is either finished or we are just about to get the last episode. You have to figure that the next big Sonic game will be for the franchise's 20th anniversary, so I think we will not see it until at least early 2011. I do however, think we will see a new spinoff game, and I most likely think it will be on Wii, even though Black Knight underperformed. Though, I suppose a DS game is likely, too.

i know that he didn't . and that's why i think this is had to be something related to a new engine and gameplay mechanics , rebooting the whole series .
everybody knows that this series need a fresh start ...

you forgot the 2 years development cycle ? the new game supposed to be shown this year . Sonic 4 release date scheduled for July , the major sonic game will most likely planned for holiday season .
and if i am not wrong i think they will start celebrating sonic's 20th anniversary this year .
